Hi, my friends MacBook air, about 3 years has a issue starting up. After checks from apple, apparently the logicboard has water damage. Are there any location she could get it fix reliably at a lower cost? They are quoting her RM2k to replace + 30day warranty.

you can buy second hand logic boards and replace it, but it wont be cheap either. i doubt anyone are willing to fix the logicboards are they are way to compact and complex. speaking from previous experience..

Hmm thanks. Well looking for a person who could do it as we are not tech competent to do so. Currently price RM2k abit steep, so looking for options.

2k price is replacing the whole board, macbook logic boards consist of everything including the power supply. usually if one thing rosak the whole logic board have to go with it. if you want repairs you are talking about special equipment and soldering skills. you got to look for electrical engineers already.
