Im currently studying diploma in Process Instrumentation & Control in GMI.

I apply the Field Specialist internship online bout three weeks ago.

Yesterday, slb called me and ask simple question regarding my application,

and finally she told me shes gonna review my CV again and will call me for interview if they want me.

Is it gonna be 1 on 1 interview?

Whats the possibilities of me gettin accepted?

Anyone experience internship wif them bfore?

Ill be goin for field exposure on 25 december at kemaman.

They put me in Testing Services as Field Specialist.

Any tips, what will happen during the exposure?

it was ok
i went there for 4 days,
during the exposure i just do what the guys are doin and help them out,
they are all supportive.

on the final day, i was interviewed by the testing manager.
I dont think it went very well, probably average...
Now i have doubt whether i will make it to the next stage...

does anyone knows when will i know the answer?

Already got the offer letter on 4th Jan.

Ive signed the offer.

Now waiting to go for medical checkup.

The recruitng manager says, many didnt pass the medidal checkup, anyone know what type of medical problem that will disqualify ?


I ve also went to SLB Singapore interview... currently waiting their reply.
they operate differently from SLB Msia. I applied for Testing Technian.







Did you mean IQ Test?
For SLB Msia, the test involves math, physic , electrical & english. Basic SPM stuff but abit harder.

For SLB Singapore, they tend to specify on pneumatic wiring diagram.

they just called me, so this friday im gonna go med checkup.

I have scoliosis ( curvature of spine ) since birth, that worries me alot as doctor would seem me unfit.

I believe im physically fit, as i do martial arts, play sports and do weight lifting.

Is scoliosis a big no no in offshore med cert?

If im not mistaken.... minimum 3.0

I state that im available 1st Feb, location is kemaman

Just now Ms Chin from recruitment called me regarding some of my info and she managed 2 say that i will be signing the contract at kemaman.

Curious , i thought that new employee has to go for OFS -1 before work at base.

What about the english test?

Anyway still waiting email for what nest step to do from a Vacation Trainee, shes in charge of me and my friends.

There are 4 of us, all from GMi , Process Instrumentation & Control.

2 of us go in testing, while another two in Well Services

but then they called him and decided that he will be based at kemaman same as me.

In the offer letter it states that salary rm3.7k

Is there any allowances for FS?

Yeay!! just got my itinerary...will be goin on 1st feb to kemaman. there will be two of us FS.

My other two frens still havnt received their offer letter after FEP... hope they succeed, the more the merrier!

i cant believe it myself, coz im 28 years old and just startin my career in OnG.

I just finish my diploma last dec, thought about goin for degree in UTP, but since i got the offer, some of frens insists i work in SLB... they say even FS can be managers in SLB, just have to increase my grade till grade 11...

2nd interview should be group dynamic test right?

During my time, they held the aptitude/technical test and group dynamic test on the same day
After that for 3rd and 4th interview they inform me by phone first to schedule and then email for the sake of black n white i guess...

If u still havnt receive anyword, try calling them.

For the 3rd interview, i was interviewed by the Recruiting Manager. To my surprise, they didnt ask about technical question. The first question, is introduce yourself (family backgroung) then they ask about ur hobby, and i think the toughest one is -what is your greatest challenge u faced recently.
I think they just tryin to find out ur personality whether ur the type of person theyre looking. I have no problem answering it since my FYP almost relates to slb working style which is working in group/achieving dateline & objectives. During this stage and group dynamic stage is where they decide which segmen they are going to put you. They will not inform you which segmen u will be placed

For the 4th interview - I was interviewd by one of the Segmen Manager that i will be assigned. Almost the same topic as previous but the Manager explain to me in a bit detail hows the working lifestyle in slb and most importantly the career advancement, as for me i was in between whether to further my degree or work for this company. If i want to further my studies in near future, they wont take me in, bcoz the cost of training is expensive, and quiting half way thru is not gonna give good impression to them. The hardest question i think is, Why do u want to work in slb? Why choose OnG field?


Just relax during this stage and be true to yourself.

Other tips :

Never mention money (only mention if they ask)
Always speak english
Be calm yet confident

At the end of the interview, u will be given the chance to ask the interviewer question. So plz ask as many question n ask away anything u have in doubt!

If they ask u whether or not u know sumthing about OnG like drilling or wutever - if u dont know just say dont know even if u know a lil bit, they can tell whether u bull shit or not.
The reason is bcoz when u enter slb, they will treat as ur past skill is zero like ur a baby, there will be school, modules n test for to learn what you need to learn to work in slb. They want u to learn the slb way i guess

Oh n the time taken for me for each stage is just one week, except for FEP as i need to reschedule bcoz they want me to go during my final..hahha

I just call them to inquire about OFS-1, and they say that i will be going to Bangkok in mid March!

So tomorrow ill be depart from KL to Kuantan, and a driver will pick both of us up to kemaman.

He he.... first day of work...damn nervous...sure kene buli wan...

Sumthing like that i think.

First year you will be a trainee whether u r FE or FS at Grade 07.
After 3 months they send u to their learning center for 1 -2 months i think.
within the first year u need to complete modules and pass the test onli then u can be promoted to Grade 08. If u fail during first year can kiss ur ass gudbye! Only when u reach Grade 08 (breakout) u will assume responsibility so during grade 07 u just need to study and help / assists the guys in base, sumthin like that.

Anyway... ill post more tomorrow after i sign the contract and briefed.
