yes i have already went through the final stages of the interview...but due to economic recession as they put it, my results is known only until june...better than  the rest of my friends that received rejection letter.

anyway i am keeping mum since i am switching to a new job and prefer to spend at least 6 months - 1 year before going to slb.

All right... Probably I can try to answer why your results will only be known after June. Most likely you are one of the confirmed since you told me rest of your pals got the rejection letters... They already laid off a certain percentage of ppl due to the economy slowdown and the low oil prices... They are monitoring whats happening till Q2 before deciding what they want to do next... Lay off more ppl? Or economy is getting better... Lets hire the minimum amount so they are fully trained once the economy recovers...

Since you want to work for your current company for a year, maybe you SHOULD inform your recruiter about your situation. He/ she should be very approachable and friendly... But then again, these are my 2 cents of opinions smile.gif

@ChoonG,
Thanks for the info. Not sure it will leave a dark record since flunked the first time@ 3rd round.
Is it a good time to apply SLB now?

Hey sunny... I am not sure if they keep a record of your previous interviews... Most likely they do but they wont remember... Haha... Getting to 3rd round is pretty good... Why would you be in the blacklist?

Hmm... Not only O&G is slow... All companies are looking at freezing employments to cut cost... The best time to apply for O&G is always when the oil price is high, say USD70/barrel and above... haha... but then again, these are my personal opinions icon_idea.gif

i think you can find a better option out there, and don't focused that much on o&g.

my first two jobs are unrelated to o&g,

first is maintenance eng,second is an enve consultant and third is analyst...have no idea what's next...

expand you views... this is the time not to be choosy.

yeah i think milleu is right, kira... SLB should be one of your choice and should not stop you from looking at other opportunities... You should start looking somewhere else and start working if needed... Once SLB confirms that you are hired, then you can leave your job... I left my first job after 1 and a half months... hehe... If SLB wants you, they will wait for you...

Hey... cheer up guys... and gals... When the oil price goes up, they will start hiring like mad cows again...

@boxsystem
If you have a family member in the company, it is okie as long as both of you are not in the same location, as I heard before...

Field life is tough for gals, milleu... but then again, if you are strong enough to go thru it, then you are good enough to do anything smile.gif
