hello GSD experts, i've got this question i've been wondering.... from what i understand, show line GSD that have the more slanted back the better.... but what is the rationale of this? i mean if it is not good for the dog's hips, why is it a good point for show competition?

Hi,

people for many year have been debating this. i would hope you could check those international gsd site and learn more about it. It doesnt mean more slanted the better and there is a only certain degree of 'slant' acceptable. If i am not wrong, 26 degree only. Check the the showline anatomy diagram. Hip problem doesnt only associate with showline, workingline have it too and as the matter of fact most of other larger breeds have it too. Thanks
