I would say its ILLEGAL. More like a private server..
If its legal, they won't be running such outdated WoW client?

Plus I think there will be SOME kinda announcement IF Bliz decides to open a Malaysian server (which I think highly unlikely, maybe Australasia, but not Malaysia).

Eh I used to play RO on a private server with ~1,000 people and it was just as fun as legit RO. I dare say that a private WoW server with that kind of population would be just as fun as regular WoW (assuming it's stable and is kept fairly up-to-date).

I mean seriously, you may say omg it's a MASSIVELY mmog, servers should have 24 million people, but how many do you interact with regularly? Most guilds will have probably 60-100 people max, and 95% of the time you're just talking/questing/instancing/raiding with these same people.

Hosting RO private server and hosting WoW private server are 2 completely different things. Just ask ANYONE who's played both private and official WoW. Even Blizz themselves are constantly dealing with bugs and having problems after EVERY major patches.

Besides, sometimes playing private RO gives more benefits because they usually get the most updated version. The official Malaysia RO was always lagging behind by quite a lot (that was back in those days when I was playing RO, not sure about now). No such problems with WoW, they usually all patch at the same time or less than 3 days in between. Blizz is VERY strict on botting, hacking, selling in game stuff and any "illegal" services and will not hesitate to ban suspiscious accounts.

With official RO, I have a friend who got banned because of botting, he went to Gameflier office and dumped a bunch of RO reload cards in front of them and they reactivated his account. Now, they cannot control the market anymore, the market controls them, because they let in the bots in the first place.

So, in a nutshell, you cannot compare WoW with RO. Official WoW maintains its quality while RO...it's more like BO (Botting Online). Private WoW? Try the official one first, and see if you wanna spend most of your time in a private WoW server.
