I have CMF and I love the ease of purchasing funds. no need to go through bank log ins and fearing there will be a fuck up on the bank system (which has happened before)

click purchase fund and you are done. highly recommended

thats for investors who wish to target high growth emerging markets in Asia. Japan is already a developed market.
*
Sorry newbie here. Isn't it better to invest in a developed country rather than in an emerging one?

got your back homey

https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...tormaincode=All

head to the methodology of fund selection.
*
Okey...that methodology was for recommendation of existing funds.

What I probably wanted to know more is how FSM selects which funds to bring in for investor like us. You see, there are a lot more funds in the market which are not offered in FSM.

Thanks.

Esther is referring to Affin Hwang Select Bond Fund, the name is actually referring to the fund manager that quite some people "fall in love" with her tongue.gif

If you read the previous replies, you will know who is she, or I will allow any fans to explain tongue.gif

some of us skim the profits when the returns hit a certain ceiling that they have set like 15% to 18% while keeping the capital and use the proceeds to invest somewhere else.

some of us believe in capital appreciation and that what goes up will come down many circles within the the span of three to five years so nothing phases them.

both don't go in just to buy a weekend meal. very level headed investors of many groups I am in.

Is it not wise to keep the profit just to see it to go down (your second assumption)? Let's say I have profited RM100; should or should not I take the money out?

usually ads to lure ppl into unit trust is 10% per annum from principal earned. so have your UT reached 10? maybe you feel it's the best time to take it now. rule of thumb is always higher than EPF and FD returns.

up to your prerogative.
different people have different way of doing things. some may think by doing so they can lock down the profits and place them to a stable fixed income fund. others have more risk appetite that they feel they can stomach the lost of the profits to get better returns. both have their merits.

example.

my Manulife India gave me a healthy returns of 15% back in October/November. I didn't cash out. post trump my returns have reduced to 5%.

1) I could have cashed out my profits and invested in US

or

2) I kept my profits in belief India will do well next year.

both in the hopes that I get a healthy returns.
