QUOTE(Avangelice @ Nov 29 2016, 10:43 PM) please don't laugh at me but this is what I did for the entire night. [attachmentid=8167525] bottom left corner is my weekly fund allocation. so don't know if I'm doing rubbish work by planning on weekly rather than monthly. reason being I feel with weekly I am doing more averaging risk during this very turbulent months. U dunno use Microsoft Excel?

QUOTE(dasecret @ Dec 2 2016, 12:26 PM) Thanks for remembering me and my preferred funds, but we already talking about it since last niteĀ Comes at a great time for me to switch ATR at all time high Damn busy with work lately, who can do me a favour and compare RHB Asian Total Return vs Affin Hwang Select Bond for 1-year and 3-year periods? Thanks Edit - Done. Affin Hwang line very smooth...sorta like FD But returns-wise, I think RHB ATR wins hands down, but the volatility is sorta like equity fund This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Dec 6 2016, 09:18 AM

QUOTE(puchongite @ Dec 6 2016, 09:22 AM) It's amazing Affin Select Bond is so stable, when other bond funds are fluctuating like crazy. Affin Hwang Select Bond is managed wholly (correct me if I'm wrong) by Affin Hwang team here in KL, so they will manage it to optimise returns and minimise risks from MYR perspective, whereas other bond funds like RHB ATR is a Feeder Fund which feeds into Singapore-based United Asian Bond Fund. The wild swings that u see in the chart must be from forex fluctuations.

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Dec 6 2016, 09:33 AM) stability and knowing the past does not represent the future and that Asia will be the next economic power house within this decade Potong markah!!! If Asia gonna be strong, they will not have to cut rates further... If no further rate cuts, no upside for Asian bonds... US inflation go up...Fed increase rates... $$$ flow back to US from Asia... R.I.P. bro

QUOTE(puchongite @ Dec 6 2016, 09:50 AM) So now you got the perspective correct, what is the verdict then, between ASB and RHB ATR ? For those who can stomach risk and wanna maximise returns - RHB For those who wanna reduce risk - Affin Hwang Select Bond

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Dec 6 2016, 09:55 AM) question to those who wants ATR. since it's volatile why buy into it when you can have the same volality on an equity fund with better returns. so far so good on my side. I think rhb bond and Islamic bond has the redemption fees if you pull out prematurely. History may (or may not) repeat itself, past performance may not replicate in the future. Correlation bro, when my equity funds fall, usually ATR go up, and vice versa. This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Dec 6 2016, 09:58 AM

Yeah, AH Select Income Fund is indeed Hwang's "chew pai chow"@signature dish.
In fact, I've always said, if u wanna have EPF-beating returns and lazy to build a conservative portfolio, just buy this fund and sleep away...come back at 55 years old.
