Hello guys, didn't see this thread before i sent noob question in other threads. anyway, i plan to buy PSP slim in japan since it's cheap there but have doubt in the compatibility. does it come with english language option? what is the difference with local unit and any potential difficulty that i may encounter?

if it's too much of a hassle, maybe i opt for sonystyle or gamers solution.
*
nth difference except the UMD region and the role of the X/O button
but all of these can be changed/hacked using custom firmware

what i meant was,
can the psp browser handle downloads from rapidshare?
(when the psp is connected to any wifi connection)
max file size around 100mb.
*
i dun think that is possible

Hi there,

Been wondering something, anyone here used the IR on the Phat PSP before?

I tried using it the other day but found out something stupid. I do not know how to turn the IR ON. Anyone knows the way?

Thanks alot...
*
there's never an officila way to turn on the IR

coz only the homebrews that actually made use of the IR port tongue.gif

thats why u dont see IR anymore in Slim

anyway to differentiate ori and fake mspd? sweat.gif
*
by package, most easy to discern, ori one will have an additional Sony Malaysia sticker on the right handside of the package, with some ID or serial no. that u can trace at sony website

For me i personally dun like bernard.. i know he is respectful.. but last time when i trying to ask more on warranty.. he didnt reply me after 1 PM.. ya, he busy i know that also.. but till now also no reply.. somehow i had bought my psp..

So far i use my psp.. i notice 1 more thing.. i felt the right hand side speaker more soft then left.. hmm.gif
*
bro... u think u re datuk meh.. he got more than 50 PMs in one day, who knows he might accidentally deleted it, warrnaty wise, all parallel import PSP can only bear shop's personal warranty, Sony-MY will not entertain it. Warranty is just labor charge free, but still need to pay for replacement parts

location wise, bernard place can find parking easier

ok...i have a MSPD, when i put into the psp,all the psp root files will be created automatically? and izit safer for me to save my stuff using card reader instead of usb? cuz i just have to insert the MSPD straight into the com without usb..
*
its the same, but bear in mind that, constantly removing and inserting the mspd back and forth, the contact pin at the surface will easier to be prone to wear and tear, have to be cautious especially if you are using a fake mspd, since their build quality isn't that good compare to genuine one cool2.gif

r u using a 2gb MPSD...?
i think you cant format a 4bg MPSD with FAT (FAT 16)
*
try this

format z: /fs:fat

where z is the drive represented by the mspd

never use quick format, as it may perform unstable in the psp

FAT32 will make the mspd slower a lot, regardless of ori or not ori
which is why I doubt, how well will the 8GB mspd (ori and fake) perform on PSP hmm.gif

how to back up the flash files incase i brick it?I just copy all of the files to the computer?
*
I ve attached the NAND dumper
extract the folder to /PSP/GAME371/ond_3xx

Run it and the dumping will start automatically
in the end a file nand-dump.bin will appear on the root of the mspd, copy that file to ur PC HDD and also pen drive if u prefer

Attached File(s)
Attached File  Open_Nand_Dumper_3_1__1__1_.xx.zip ( 26.43k ) Number of downloads: 29

what am i suppose to do with this file if i wan to use it?
*
erm that one I not sure, just keep that file in a safe folder, or store inside a flash drive and keep it safely, if oneday your PSP bricked, that file is the sole elixir to revive it back, hand the nand dump file to PSP technician and they know what to do smile.gif

lol u kena ripped by shopkeepers
PSP fat should be a lot more cheaper than PSP slim thesedays

it's obvious they wanna to take advantage of you

but it's a big joke when you said you can't discern Slim and Fat doh.gif

but i think he will not that disappointed since he look like mostly on homebrew  hmm.gif

somemore i read somewhere else, they will not make a 1.5 kernal for slim.. so most likely all developer will develop 3.xx kernal homebrew rather then 1.5. And 3.xx kernal homebrew and better then 1.5

Its true?
*
i not sure whether there's some backdoor to run 1.5 on a Slim, macam ada macam tak ada hmm.gif unsure.gif

but he is paying the price of a Slim for a Fat... kena ripped off, can even get the Slim at slightly cheaper which is ard RM850

QUOTE(HellJoker @ Dec 3 2007, 03:46 PM)
Hey peeps,

How are you guys doing? I'm a proud owner of a new PSP (2 days ago). Everything seems fine until I tried reading the memory stick (Sony Memory Stick Duo 4gb) via card reader and the PSP connected straight to my laptop. I couldn't view any files on the memory stick. I have tried using other computers but the result is still the same. Any help? I want to copy some saved game files into the memory stick.

Thanks for the reply!

Cheers
btw: the first time I connect my psp to my laptop, windows prompt me on what program to be used to read the contents, I just clicked on cancel...  ever since then, the memory card is always shown empty althought there are saved stuff in it. After removing the connection from the psp to my laptop via usb cable, windows auto-protect detected the components in the memory stick as virus... and auto delete some stuff. Hope it makes sense
*
have u tried using card reader?

I hope u dont trigger the option "access flash0 via USB" or else risk bricking ur PSP
