ohh good that is a direct answer (in blue) to me then, thanks g3n0c, can you reckon a 4 inline 250cc bike in Malaysia. I really hope there is one out there  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Don't think there are any inline-4 250 already here. Long ago there was the ZXR 250 which sounder just great. Today, many bikes up to even 900cc are on twins already. Only bikes I can think of below 1,000cc with an inline-4 are the XJ6 series and the similar recond FZ6R by Yamaha and the CBR600RR by Honda...

Any other inline-4 below 1,000cc out there?

Here are more interesting 250cc - 310cc adv choices coming (if they actually come to Malaysia...)

Suzuki V-Strom 250
Kawasaki Versys 250/300 (as ZZR-Pilot mentioned)
Honda CRF 250 Rally (hmmm, wonder why they didn't outfit it with panniers)
BMW G 310 GS adventure

Could be really fun to see these qtr ltr adv bikes running around but with the economy in 'safe mode', it'll probably be tough to see any of these being introduced.

Kevin Schwantz... only he can make Suzuki very powerful bcoz the RGV500 suited his riding style...

Kevin was special on the Suzuki. At that time, only he could make the Suzuki competitive

planning to get ktm rc250 in april. been waiting for cbr250rr (with ABS) like forever. i also waiting for kawa versys x-250 to launch with ABS, but so disappointed that they didnt include ABS even as an option. shame on u kawa msia. im riding my bike 160km daily (back n forth) to work. fell 3 times within 5 years, all of it caused by wheel lock from sudden braking. so if u ask me if ABS is important or not. my answer will be yes, 100% important. never buy bike w/o ABS one. right now i see kawa, honda & yamaha so cheapskate to include ABS on their bike. for example, cheapest kawa with 'proper' ABS (bosch ABS) and slipper clutch is ninja 650 (38k) and the z650 (37k). im also frequently charging hard into corners, so the slipper clutch in rc250 will definitely help me to control my bike better (hard downshift / hard braking). if u compare, no other 250cc (esp jepunis brand) has advanced suspension & safety features as ktm offering. so my advice to u, either duke250 or rc250. SAFETY FEATURES MUST BE YOUR TOP PRIORITY if u intend to ride occasionally / long distance. ride safe ya biggrin.gif

True about the safety features. Too bad cannot retrofit ABS as it involves the ECU as well...

z250sl?

i say get a used Z250 instead.
was considering the z250sl quite some time ago.. and after joining the FB group and reading some of the posts/comments....kinda turned me off.

only common issue is the headlamp cracking due to the bulb watt being too high....

but there are a number of owners who has complained of various problems.

1 dood even spent almost the price of the bike to get it fixed.. now gave up, and selling the bike as parts.

You mean the 2-cylinder is better right?

yes. that engine has been around for so long and has been so popular all over the world that any issues it has/had, there would probably be a solution for it already heheheh

Z250 common problems that i know of
1/ water entering meter cluster
2/ coil burning out - can be re-coiled for about RM4-500 ringgit.
both doesnt happen very often though. my 50k km z250 thankfully hasnt had any issues.

though i think i wanna change my wheel bearings soon.

Wheel bearing wear out on a bike is it like in a car where you have noise when you ride?
