isn't it ironic when people are willing to buy high end gadgets like nokia nseries, minolta d40, geforce 8800 and intel core 2 duo, but not willing to buy original microsoft windows.
*
I feel the same and agree with u. icon_rolleyes.gif
But I think people basically judge on either it is tangible or intangible assets. tongue.gif
They are willing to buy high end gadgets because they can feel, hold and see it.Probably is . wink.gif

I am currently using Windows XP Home Edition which came bundled with my laptop so if I switch to Vista, I should go for Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade or go for the Windows Vista Full Version? Is there any difference between this 2 since the price of the upgrade version is significantly lower than the full version?
*
Dun be get confused, my freind . tongue.gif
.If u have windows XP home edition after 27,Nov 2006,U will get free upgrade to Windows Vista Home basic with payable to microsoft for a small courier fees.
.The different between Windows Xp Home Edition vs Vista home basic for retailed packing.Oem packing is u bought a new PC/Laptop together .As Oem means software that distributing with a new PC/Laptop.
.If you do not have any OS with ur old PC/Laptop, u have to buy the full version. nod.gif

i want to ask.
i using Win XP now and i want to change to WIN vista OEM is that possible?

And addition when Reformeting Win Vista OEM is that possible? cause it only say use 1 time
*
QUOTE(liciece @ Feb 7 2007, 03:29 PM)
not use 1 time, but use on only one PC. smile.gif
*
You are right. One PC one OS only. But New Oem OS is only for new PC/Laptop.
On my opinion, there is an exceptional case.

Let say : U change mainboard ,change harddisk ,change processor, change Ram for the purpose of upgrading,Microsoft might allow u to use the Oem version.Correct me if I am wrong. icon_rolleyes.gif

well a friend of mine bought a laptop last month... comes with an oem win xp. had to format the laptop after a few weeks due to some problems. cant activate it after that as he changed some specs between the time of 1st activation to reinstallation. all he did was called microsoft, and they issued him with a new product key.. took him less than 5 mins i think.
*
Exactly. There's other circumstances u will get the product key without any changes. tongue.gif One OS is one time activation, is true. But if ur harddisk spoilt ,softwares corrupted etc.U need re-installed or reformatted the harddisk. All u have to do is just explain the problems u face.

After all, u can't cheating also.Microsoft request ur old product keys verification before they issue a new product keys. notworthy.gif

U can either use phone or thru internet online. thumbup.gif

for upgrading, microsoft doesnt allow user to do clean installations, which mean you will have to upgrade vista on to your existing XPHome or Pro. if your vista crash and again you will have to reinstall your XPhome or pro then again upgrade to vista.  rclxub.gif

Should not be that ler . tongue.gif
U dun need to re-installed XP home or XP Pro.Not logical.I think Microsoft will send a complete CD same like Oem version.U dun need to use the previous version.Use the Cd they sent to you is enough.

This is more comfortable.Software giant should consider possible future problems face by the user.Hence, I think u have think too much.Hopefully I am right too. laugh.gif
