Hentam hentam liao can improve laugh.gif
Lack of studio level gears. laugh.gif

The background of the image can be better.

We were using continuous lights in taking the shot. If got more flashes and stands, we would have a slightly higher quality image. Since we were shooting at ISO 300 with continuous lights. laugh.gif

And we need larger softboxes for better light diffusion. Notice the reflections on the watches, can be improvised one. biggrin.gif

But ayam still amateur la. Still learning with master PF T.J.

Always bojio cry.gif

You should try shooting with light painting instead, way easier to create a soft diffused light using just one continuous light + softbox. But can't freeze the droplets la laugh.gif

Thanks for the advice man! Appreciate it notworthy.gif
We have a few car shooting projects and we were wondering whether long exposure with light painting OR merging strobe shots would create a better photo hmm.gif
Any ideas or suggestions from the sifus? Thanks in advance!  notworthy.gif

would definitely prefer light painting, way easier to setup and less things to go wrong. the biggest weakness would be finding a location that's dark enough.

not to say strobes are bad, but to me its a lot more complicated. shoot at kampar or?

I've yet to try light painting, but will try it out thumbup.gif
Can I just use a normal torchlight to do it? Won't the light be too harsh?

First noob try with strobes with DS_Legacy laugh.gif Didn't have nice car to work with, but learnt a lot from there.
user posted imageDSC_9430e-4e_flickr by My Story Production, on Flickr

Strobes will require more equipment, and have to be very efficient with the shooting as there are so many angles to "apply" the strobe. The shot above was easy because the background was always the same. Initially wanted to try shooting the car with a sunset but we were too slow and in the end sun lari liao  ranting.gif

Still thinking about what to shoot next time haha, perhaps a moving car shot, that one should be easy so long as there's an empty road, dramatic skies and open space (a bit hard to find in Kampar I think; not nice to have buildings or trees in the reflection of the car) hmm.gif
*
depends on what kind of lighting you want, there are shots where people leave bright strokes on the car to highlight the shape of the vehicle and there are shots where people try to diffuse the light, both will work but you have to understand the car well enough to decide which method to use. and if your aim is diffused light, just attach a softbox/ shoot through umbrella in front of the light source.

not a bad shot actually, but as you can see with strobes it is very easy to have hot spots and uneven gradients across the car since they are not lit evenly.

i think you are referring to rolling shot right? not that hard to scout locations imo since it will not be the main focus most of the time, any open road with little vehicles and street lamps/ electric posts will be enough to practice. i think i saw quite some roads in kampar that fits well.

Here's a shot of a Gerbera Daisy from my recent trip to Cameron Highlands laugh.gif

Gerbera Daisy is a beautiful flower that is native to the tropics. This plants have been bred over the years to produce an extensive array of wonderful colours.

Surprising to many, Gerbera plants are actually easy to plant in your home garden, and can be purchased for around RM10-20 depending on variety/ presence of flowers biggrin.gif

Hi guys, I was wondering how did you guys handle any old gear for upgrading? I still have my D3100 and after helping my friend get a D3400 I realized I haven't been keeping up with the trends and my body is quite outdated (lack of mic input, snapbridge etc.).

So I was wondering if you guys have any tips on reselling old DSLR bodies? How much should I expect, is it worth selling at all, who would be buying 2nd hand etc?

try Garage Sales? So far I've been trading there for a few years without any problems.

Move to Olympus MFT.

as someone who went from Canon > Olympus > Nikon, the IQ is going to be pretty disappointing to be honest. had the em10 last time and the DR/ ISO performance isn't even close to my current d7000 at all, as i got them both about the same price.

the IBIS is lovely though.

interested with the cam too, but doesn't look like its going to do well here ( look at how fast Sony RX100 and Canon g7x launches in comparison). Nikon probably gave up.

Not very familiar with Fuji but the background bokeh does not look too pleasing.  hmm.gif Much like you get from Nikon's 50mm f/1.8.
What's lens is that 150mm f/2.8 lens? Sigma? I expected a buttery smooth bokeh.
Whoa... I think that cost should be to change AF motor and lens barrel kut... I'm also facing same dilemma with my 24-70 that requires changing lens barrel and AF motor. Nikon quoted 2.5k but that was some time back. I guess it would cost about the same with the current currency exchange.
If they go back to Nikon, wouldn't it cost the same or even more?

yeap sigma 150mm f2.8

it was way past development stage already la.
they had pre-production working models in the hands of reviewers already.

coolpix A deserved to die, it was released at a wrong time...like lack of market research...priced out of market segment...then expensive viewfinder etc.

"If you've been patiently awaiting the release of the Nikon DL18-50 since it was first announced in February 2016, your wait is unfortunately over. Just days shy of the first anniversary of the DL18-50's announcement, Nikon has now officially revealed that the camera will not reach the market due to issues the company has encountered with its image processor coupled with soaring development costs and a market that's been continuing to slow down."

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/niko...on-dl18-50A.HTM

"A June, 2016 release was originally planned for the DL series. However, with the identification of issues with the integrated circuit for image processing, release of the three cameras was delayed indeterminately.

Since then, everyone involved has worked very hard to develop products with which our customers will be satisfied. However, it has been decided that sales of the DL series will be canceled due to concerns regarding their profitability considering the increase in development costs, and the drop in the number of expected sales due to the slow-down of the market."

http://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/...ct-cameras.page

only a few units of pre-production prototype for testing not considered as development stage? they did admit the camera wasn't ready for launching too.

i actually liked the coolpix A as a camera, it looks like a fun little camera, although i never get to try one (they are so rare anyways). but yeah, the pricing was way too ambitious, even more expensive than the fuji x100s iinm?
