Try using a pair of pliers, gripping the sides, or else use a fixed grip pliers. Try to deform the sides of the screw head to make it easier. Cant tap with aPhilips screwdriver to get a better grip 'cos of HD or CD Rom attached the other side.

Try to use a combination plier tip to grip on the broken head screw.
I doubt you can use a phillips(+) type screwdriver to open it anymore. From the picture, the screw is pretty much damaged. Just a tip for you guys & gals. Use a correct size of screwdriver to avoid having such problem anymore. For the screws in your PC, most of the time you should use a Phillips No.2 screwdriver. Don't use any smaller or a bigger size because it will damage the screw head. This post has been edited by fan_cheong: Feb 3 2007, 12:11 PM |

Try using a saw, run it over the screw head until you get an opening wide enough to accomodate a flat head (-) screw driver. The size of the screw driver should be as big as the diameter of the screw head.
Just a theory, never tried it before. |
