Suggestion for you MrLoo, go to phone shops and test out all the phones you have in mind. Decide base on your budget and liking. Get second hand from GS if you want to save couple hundreds bucks.

Actually S7 Edge not really downgrade, it is 99% same spec as Note7 except it release earlier, no S Pen,  no Iris scanner (I feel the explosion maybe due to this, who knows it never stop from scanning, Samsung is not the 1st using Iris scanner, the 1st is done by Sharp in Japan and Sharp removed it after a while that phone get release in market by mentioned only it never accurate.)

I called my branch few days ago for twice...they said their boss haven't update them anything..and so i waited

juz now i walk in to the branch to take a look at S7e...those idiots still telling me the same thing...boss no update anything

i am like: "WTF? is your boss sleeping or what?"

also, Samsung said we are supposed to get a call from our branch few days ago right? I got nothing from them.

What phone you using now, if not urgent, maybe just keep the money for next phone, but you surely need to wait until Feb, 2017 if current phone in market nothing you like.

Unless you interesting with others brand phone, if you never try others brand, maybe now is good time to try out.

Others brand also did well in phone, not only Samsung.

You can try out

• Google Pixel XL (I may buy it or may not or not now),
  
• LG V20 (It is a solid phone but I not so like the front design where the top extra screen make the phone screen not in center but lower down),
  
• Huawei P9 Plus (I am ex owner, stunning camera but focus speed not that fast compare with Samsung S7 Edge)
  
• iPhone 7 Plus (My next phone, is time to taste iOS).
  

For smaller phone, you can try out

• Sony Xperia XZ (I try it and it look nice and smooth but the camera do over sharpening, at least it is the best ever did by Sony already),
  
• LG G5 (I try it and it is unbelievable look nice in actual with stunning camera).
  

For cheaper phone, you may try out

• LG Google Nexus 5x (I am using it now with Android 7.0, gorgeous screen and camera)
  
• Xiaomi Mi Max (my sister is using it, solid giant size phone)
  

If insist on Samsung, the only phone I can recommended now is

• Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (I am ex owner, real solid and the best Samsung phone now, actually shall be Note7 but too bad the bad tragic on it).

I choose to refund because I doesn't like the s7 edge design. anyhow I ask if refund how long I need to wait? they said they will straight away issue cheque to my so I can direct bank in to my account & doesn't need to wait.

DirectD always is not my choice, the price there normally too expensive.
I am getting Black (Matte) coming future, after touching both, I never think about Jet Black anymore, not the scratch issue, but the finger magnet issue. Now just using Nexus 5x happily.

For Note or Android users thinking of switching over to iPhone 7/7+, I'd like to offer my experience using iPhones. I had used all the iPhone series since first model with exception of iP5S
Be prepared for a " shock" at how closed IOS is vs Androids
Here are some :

It is basically the management of files on IOS vs Android
To me is quite an important issue but could be totally unimportant to others

IOS restricts any file type to only one app and one must reassigned the same file to other apps if needed eg a PDF file if assigned to Adobe Reader cannot be read by any other apps unless I reassigned it again and that needs iTunes
Using iTunes to manage my files collection is troublesome
Unlike Android you can do practically anything on phone itself eg delete, edit file names, move, copy etc
Most files ( except video) I am unable to delete directly on phone unless to use iTunes
All files downloaded through Mail app if I assigned a certain app to open it , I must use the same app to access it again

Whatsapp : every image and video files is lumped together in one single Camera folder together with all my other photos. Deleting any images/videos on whatsapp will not delete the file and I need to manually go into camera folder to delete it and than select empty from Deleted folder

Downloading attachments on Mail app is terribly slower vs even my lowest end Android. One still need a separate app to send attachments thro Mail.

I had purchased Sandisk iXpand 64GB drive to act as external USB OTG drive but is overall a disappointing experience - file transfer speeds is so terribly slow vs Android. And the Sandisk drive isn't cheap either - last year I paid nearly RM300 for the 64GB unit. All copied files goes to a single My Downloads folder on phone and you cannot placed your files on any folder of your choice

The iPhone is overall a very good efficient phone other than these file management issues. Such files management is easily done on any Android and on the phone itself. I could easily create any folders on phone internal memory or ext SDCard and move files easily within phone itself. No need to connect the iPhone with PC to do such simple tasks

U mean refund for Note 7. Haven't approach to samsung store yet.
