Beware of this bugger 'jun'. He is the worst 'old forumer' I have dealt with since joining this forum.
It all started like this ;
Upon advertising the sale of my Opteron 144 in GS, I received the following PM :-
"opteron 144 best price how much?
I want it by today or tommorow meet at mid valley
pls call me 012-6616973"
I sms'ed him around 10.50pm (about 4 hours after he had sent the PM). He then replied :-
ME : "Bro, the best price is as mentioned. Do you want it with or without the heatsink fan"
JUN : "Urs is opt 144? Wats the warranty left"
ME : "Its bought as oem. No warranty but i will provide 1 week personal warranty"
JUN : "Hmm ok how long bben use n ur best price again? Can deal tonight at Puchong area?
ME : "9 months and 380 with the heatsink fan or 360 without"
ME : "So can we meet tomorrow at mv?"
JUN : "Tomolo what time?"
JUN : "Ok but isit possible meetup tonight? I need to send the whole rig back by tomorrow actually"
This last message I received was at 11.07pm. He then calls me up and tells me that he needs to meet me tonight and pleads. I tell him to meetup with me either in Sunway or Subang, but he insisted I come to his place with the Opty and HSF. I told him I'll be there in 30mins. He later insisted to bring my own PSU (WTF, you think I'm a salesman or what?) & I told him I don't have a spare. He told me he was using one but he didn't want to take it out from his 2nd rig (Then why did he mention he needs to send the rig back and to who if it's his own rig?) I then bring a friend along and go over to his place. Once at his place, I see his mother waiting and watching after we greeted his mom and him before being invited to his house. He then used an unattached motherboard with a high-end HSF and he takes out his existing A64 3000+ and places mine onto the socket. I asked him whether he was upgrading and he tells me that he thinks his 3000+ is fried. The way this guy handled his board was so reckless and careless, I was not surprised he did (he also placed the bare board on top of his other rig without even putting an anti-static layer underneath it until I mentioned + he didn't even bother to put any thermal paste on the chip stating that he only wants to test it for a few minutes? + I guess he had already planned to do this scheme instead of really taking the chip). His mom had been waiting at the back watching and he finally attaches my proc to 'HIS' (he asked me to bring mine earlier) heatsink fan & attempts boot. I tell him it's better to clear the CMOS before attempting but he wasn't bothered to do so. Once he switches on the board (DFI LanParty NF-4) the fans power up for a split second and go off. This procedure was tried several times whilst I helped him to troubleshoot ( He then asks me if my proc was ok, and I replied "Bro, it's working of course, and do u think I'll come over to your place + give u a week of warranty)". I see his unattached and other components and realize that it was his mobo at fault and question him. He admits that yes it was his motherboard which wasn't working but he thought it was his proc (then WTF did u not tell all this shit into the first place). I then ask him how old is the board and he says about 2 years. I told him that he could go to Alphamatic and claim RMA if it's within 2 years. He tells this to his mother & suddenly both of the speak loudly in Chinese. After several minutes, he then tells me he will only take the proc on Wednesday as he would need to get a replacement board. He then asked wehre we should meetup and suddenly his mom says "Don't meet here, meet @ MV" (WTF biatch, it was ur son who asked me to come over and FFK'ed the deal and now u talk rudely to ur guests?) I knew that this guy and his mom had fu*cked me and since they knew it wasn't their proc which was spoilt, they cancelled the deal cunningly. I asked him once I was out that why don't u take the proc 1st and I'll refund you the cash if there's any probs. He said "No la, I think I'll meet u on Wed and take it there @ MV " (bloody crook, just because I was fair, u decide to take advantage?"
Till today, he hasn't replied or called me back after sending multiple PM's and SMS'es.
My word of advice to any forumers who are gonna deal with type of baskits :-
- Always deal in between both Seller's and Buyer's location which you are familiar with.
- Always, always bring a friend along
- Don't rush into a deal (I needed the dough and I made this mistake)
- Enforce your terms & conditions b4 dealing
Fortunately I have sold of this proc to a reputable buyer and I wish to warn all those who are gonna trade with 'jun' to beware.
THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 22 JAN 2007
