I emailed UOB on this and below is their reply:

Dear
Thank you for your email

Our telephone conversation refers ,we wish to inform that we will not deduct the cash rebate amount from your qualifying spending to earn cash back hence even if there is a credit earned from cash back , we will still take your original spending for that month as the qualifying spend for cash back

We have hereby attached the detailed terms and condition for the cash back for your references

Should you need further clarification, please email us at uobcustomerservice@uob.com.my. Alternatively, you may contact our 24-hours Customer Service Officers at 03-2612 8121 (KL), 04-2401 121 (PNG), 07-2881 121 (JB), 082-287 121 (KCH), 088-477 121 (KK) for assistance.

Of course I asked based on the situation you have faced.

Actually I called them and later emailed them. Both CS gave me the same answer.
