RV01 Interesting notes.

Top CLosing
Pros.
Quietens down the fan noise etc by quite a bit
960
Cons.
the top closing increases ambient temp+cpu by 5-10C. on a Full rig and even bare with on single x1050 and single hdd,
tested with TRUE, Coolit Freezone ( fixed to the i/o and even extended to outside of the casing to double test). Weirdly enough setting the gtx285 sli to 100% fan speed the temps of the gpu only inreases by 1C for both cards when this is closed.

Side Panels
Pros.
Again a huge difference in noise muffling by it.

Cons.
2.the side panels are joined to the plastic + metal etc. the lower part at the bottom is easy to bend and will not revert back to shape..
hence when u close it back it wont fit nicely anymore. Had to fix that with some thin layer of epoxy glue.
Side panel in question is the one thats fitting the cabling but the front also the same. This was after some time it had some pressure from
some thick cables hiding at the back.

HDD Compartment:
Pros:
Again no noise from 5 hdd.. two veloci, one x25, one raptor, one aals 640gb ( u guys will be getting some of these in next week or so )

Cons:
3. the HDD temps after long term will also increase a lot. The fan below at 700 RPM CFM fan is not enough.
Max IDLE temp during the afternoon for the hdd was around 40.. that is quite a lot compared to my ft01,tj07,gigabyte 3d galaxy which all records around 32C idle. Looking now for a higher cfm fan 180mm/38mm fan. The problem is not so apparent if slot 6,4 is used only but when i used more than 3 with each of them next to each other.. temps start flaring up 8-10C+ on hdd. the airflow on the 180mm fan is definitely not enough/
Also the fitting of the filter at the bottom has gaps at the clips which dust comes through it.. how i know.. cause my maid swept the room and found a bit of remnants of the broom inside the casing.. quite small but it came throught that so expect dust will also since its at the floor where most dust settles.

Mobo Placing
Pros: Cable Management and actually very sturdy cause ure gc's are not putting any weight on the pcie slots and with the side slot holder thingy it really keeps the gc, soundc in place.. even shake the whole casing. etc doesnt even move at all.

Cons: Again tested on 3 mobos.. Asus R2e, Asus R2f,Asus S2E ( this was the worst. as the nb was dependent at one time was idling around 84C compared to Gigabyte 3D Galaxy at 56C), DFI Ut X58 ,. the same deadzone at the nb even with aircooler. Tested with just sticking a piece of paper to see whether there was movement of air on the nb heatsink.

Paint:
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: The whole paint on the plastic is easily left with a water droplet kind of mark on it.. not sure how it even got there. basically the whole top near the usb port.

USB
super con.. 2 usb ports?? man ppl need 4.. not freaking 2.

Others u know i guess
Prep for long sata cables and i mean long.. especially if ure going to use the top drive bay to the mobo and want to do some cable management.
advice to place it at the last.

Other issue's
Had a hard time putting in a bought and paid to be first da1200 inside the casing.. and the cables had a hard time to fit through the cable route holes ..which is y ended up with getting a hx1000 instead of wasting time to remove each molex

Temps were tested via hardware and software.

tested on some e-peen rig with a lot of "first bought and touched hardware in malaysia" lol:

hmm theres one con of the ft01
a big one in my count

both the side panels when refitted back and screwed..
the curved part that is fixed back to the casing near the drive bays are not hooked down.
just with a plastic ruler u can just pry it open as its only screwed at the back..
