What is and Why Paint Protection Film (PPF)?

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a transparent thermoplastic urethane film that is specially designed to withstand tough environmental factors and protect your vehicles’ paint from stone chips, scratches, stains and dirt from adhering to the paint. The PPF can be easily applied on any part / section that you wanted to protect and most reputed brands’ PPF products can easily last up to 5 years of service life with full protection coverage yet comes in highly gloss finishing where it enhances the paint finishes and overall look of the vehicle with a polished looks. With all these great features and benefits, most people choose to get the PPF applied on part / section such as the hood / bonnet, bumpers, door handles, fenders and etc. that are fragile and more exposed to the tough environmental factors. Area of use
For the protection of sensitive surfaces against mechanical forces in interior and exterior applications. Specially designed for the protection of vehicle body parts such as front and rear bumpers, side skirts and etc. against stone chipping. Recommended for bonding to even and slightly curve surfaces.

Temperature resistance: adhered to aluminium, -40° C to +110° C, no variation
Resistance to solvents and chemicals: At room temperature, 72h after adhesion to aluminium, shortterm resistance to most oils and greases, fuels, aliphatic solvents, weak acids, salts and alkalis
Fire behaviour (DIN 75200): Adhered to steel, self-extinguishing
Adhesive power (FINAT TM 1, after 24h, stainless steel): 20 N/25 mm
Tensile strength (DIN EN ISO 527): Along: min. 22 MPa Across: min. 25 MPa
Elongation at break (DIN EN ISO 527): Along: min. 150% Across: min. 180%
Shelf life: 2 years
Application temperature: > +10° C
Service life by specialist application under vertical outdoor exposure (standard central European climate): 5 years

one thing about flim is... it only helps abit against scratches, does nothing against dings... and he (^) said.. if it turns yellow after a while..... bangwall.gif

i actually considered doing this (at least to the front bumper....) but after considering... i also came to the conclusion that repainting is easier.... not like my car is some sort of classic with the original coat of paint which must be protected a all costs

You mean the bulbs or the whole assembly? Seat Leon... if you need to change the LED bulbs it is RM 5k per side as the whole assembly needs to be changed. biggrin.gif
