I just got my visa signature card, to get cashback. Also yearly there is a rm550 commitment annually how do you guys manage so far? is it worth it keeping the card. I still keep my Maybank gold cards which I've been using for some years

Depends on you whether you think it is worthwhile to pay the annual fee. Maybank doesn't waive it. I cut mine

I cut mine too after being asked to check with the management for waiver 2 times.

I've been having this card for ages, until last year kena charged whopping RM550, wtf... didn't realize all these years it was waived cuz my annual spending went past their requirement of 30k.

Pain like heck and couldn't waive it off. This year, I wanna cancel since I won't hit 30k, and worse is, there's absolutely no reason why one should even have this card. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see any benefits using Visa Signature, don't know why we need to pay so much for a useless card.

I was then introduced Barcelona's. Cuz it has 1% rebate for most spendings, more practical. I think that's the next best Maybank card I can consider. Anyone using Barcelona's has any specific points to echo?

I would say depend on individual spend using this card.
For me, I still holding this card and always spend on grocery, I have just get waiver for annual fee last month as I have meet their requirement

I have been recorded regularly in total on monthly basis to hit 30k too

Barcelona used to a good card when it was first introduced. 1% is not attractive for some of us, but if it matches your spending, then why not.

This Visa Signature is so useful for me. And every month I am maxing out the RM88 cash back for petrol + groceries.... Well since the annual fee is strictly unwaivable, I have done several times of cancelling and reapplied 3 month later. Definitely top priority card when it comes to petrol and groceries, always

That's alot of effort to cancel and reapply, lol...and they allow you somemore.

Basically, I searched for the old form submitted via email, re-edit the application date and the resubmit... That's it. Lol...

Haha, like that also can. The savings do seem worth your time, lol
