A bit confused on how this credit card cycle works.
So lets say that my statement is always on the 11th of any month. On May 12th, I cleared my previous month balance and used RM1k for May’s 10% cashback. Can I still use the ‘last minute trick’ to only spend RM500 for next month’s cash back or it doesn’t work that way?
I always thought that the cashback quota resets after every statement.
Thanks in advanced.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ May 31 2019, 09:15 AM) wrong assumption. mbb cashback is reset by calendar month. statement cycle is not in the picture. it's just for your monthly payment cycle. So in my case.. if the trick worked, I should get rm150 cash back on my next statement cycle (June 11th)? Rm100 from May and Rm50 from June. Thanks sifu

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 31 2019, 09:16 AM) Yes, you can provided transactions will be posted in next month. Cash back is based on calendar month for all MBB cards. Thanks fruitie. Is it the same for all credit card companies? Public, standard chartered, mbb?

QUOTE(cybpsych @ May 31 2019, 09:28 AM) nope you get may's cashback on 1 June (viewable in m2u by 2 June), which will be in your june statement. however, your cross-month transaction will get billed in your june statement as well. so, you pay first. spending in June will get cashback on 1 July (viewable in m2u by 2 July), which will be in your july statement. dont get confused between cashback cycle vs spending/statement cycle. I see.. understood sifu. I only had public bank card before this and the cashback always come together during statement date (17th in my case) so got a bit confused there.
