Most of the posts talking about Barcelona card. Does anyone talk about the Signature? Can I ask if anyone has successfully get the AF waived for not meeting the yearly a pending requirement? I would like to know. Is the card worth it?

QUOTE(AhBoy~~ @ Oct 15 2020, 11:01 AM) I think so far based on my personal experience and what I heard, AF can only get waived when meeting the spending requirement(maybank is quite strict on this) Yeah that’s what I heard too. They are strict with the af. Anyway let say if I apply and active the card on 1 Nov 2020, means the af will be charge 1 nov 2021 or 2022? Cos it says free waiver for 1st year. And correct me if wrong, the moment it activates, RM25 tax will be charged immediately right?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 15 2020, 11:38 AM) If you have other MBB conventional cards, it follows the anniversary month embossed on other cards. For e.g., all are having anniversary month in April and you apply this card in Nov. So your 1 year anniversary will start on 1st April 2021 to 26th March 2022. For the months from Nov to March are considered free months, still get cash back but not counted into spending requirement. If you are a new cardholder, then yes, it starts from the month your card is approved. And RM 25 SST is charged once card is approved. Quite nice to use, I had it many years ago and just tapped and left supermarkets. No need to worry which day to use as all-day cash back for petrol and groceries. I only kept until AF is charged and cancelled after that. That’s a great explanation. Thanks! So just to clarify based on the situation you mentioned (if I have other MBB cards), means the AF will be charged on April 2021, not April 2022? Is it ok to cancel the card right before the anniversary? The bank must have known this trick hehe

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Oct 15 2020, 11:36 AM) Even though every month you earn maximum cash back of RM 88, still unable to reach min annual spending of RM 30k. I think the min annual spending of RM30 is pretty steep right.

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Oct 15 2020, 11:53 AM) Well, they expect those who is capable to hold that card is able to spend that amount or even more. Its income requirement is higher than Barcelona VS. True. I wish they have tiering af based on spending amount, but that would be something unconventional for banks to do.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 15 2020, 12:08 PM) Nope. AF will charge on 27th March 2022. So still long way to go. Yes, it is OK to cancel and you can even cancel after AF is charged (that's what I did) but make sure no spending after AF is charged, better justification to get cancellation without paying for the AF. Ok great. Very useful info. Thanks much! 🙏🏻

Got my application approved for VS via m2u. Applied on last week Friday and received SMS saying approved yesterday (Thursday) and today reflected in m2u. Now pending card delivery. Wonder how long it will take. Upon receive, plan to use for 1 year while the AF is waived for first year.
But I’m confused does the CL combined with my existing m2cards? Cos it says in m2u “Combined limit” xxx. Or does the CL standalone on its own?

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 23 2020, 05:22 PM) You won't get 2 seperate credit lines from the same bank. Malayan Banking Berhad and Maybank Islamic Berhad are 2 different banks. You can get 1 credit line from Malayan Banking Berhad, 1 credit line from Maybank Islamic Berhad. Right.. thanks. Never knew this. If I know, I wouldn’t cancel my other bank’s CC.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 23 2020, 05:28 PM) Not an issue, you can always apply for new credit facilities (including credit card, loan, O/D etc) at another bank. Yeah thanks. Apparently prefer to maintain with 1 bank for ease of tracking. So far quite happy with mbb services.
