Maybank AF waiver is built into their system. Means ONLY if you meet the spending requirements will the AF be waived. Irrespective whether you are using a basic card or a premier card as the system is applied uniformly. No need to call in to their CS.
If you do not meet the spending requirement and call in to their CS, CS will refer the case to their "management" for an application to waive the AF. It is part of the process and partly to appease the customer during the call that something is being done but the eventual outcome if you do not meet the spending requirements remains the same - NO AF WAIVER!
Bottom line - 99.999% AF will not be waived if your spending does not meet requirement even though with intervention from CS & "management".
Hope my statement clears up any unclear information regarding MBB AF policy. I'll advise members bluntly that if you do not agree with any bank's product, please don't beg them for freebies. Just cancel the card and exercise your right as the consumer by walking away + protect personal integrity.
One more thing ... part of the growth and strength of this section lies in the accuracy and credibility of the information shared by members. If the information is vague, inaccurate, "I heard from my friend", "I think ..." or something similar to the same effect - don't share. You'll only disrupt others (not to mention potentially impact) those who rely on the information that you shared.

I will put my foot down on any posts stating SST can be waived. (by the banks/Gov,etc)
Last time when the RM50 was imposed on all cc, we went into debate for months on the word waived. A lot of smart alecks was "defining" the word "waive" and this is happening again.
In such instances the tax is paid by someone/somebody else on your behalf and that is the cold hard fact. The government did not waive the tax. Prove to me that the government did not collect any monies/income as tax from your credit card (as of 1st Sept 2018 till it is removed) and I'll rescind this rule.
Note : Any posts with incorrect statement(s) on SST credit card tax will be removed without notice. The section's T&C has been updated to include notice on removal of incorrect/misleading SST discussions and applicable throughout the section.

QUOTE(engyr @ Jul 19 2022, 08:33 AM) My Barcelona card got unauthorised transaction, besides call the hotline to block the card, anything else I need to do to get back the refund? 1. Call the bank to report the transaction. 2. Bank will block the card and they may ask you to fill in a dispute form. Do complete the form if asked. 3. Transaction will be investigated and disputed value block off. Investigation will take up to 3 months. 4. A new card will be provided to you within x days. 5. Likely an official letter will be sent to you once the investigation is completed and stating the outcome. Only upon reaching this stage will the disputed amount be dealt with. Nothing to be worried about if you didn't perform the transaction. Just be patient and not expect the dispute to close within a few days. It'll take a while. QUOTE(MGM @ Jul 19 2022, 09:40 AM) While waiting pay the disputed amount too? I did mentioned that the disputed amount is blocked off when the transaction is being investigated. Means it won't be part of the value you have to pay during monthly billing. Calling to block the card doesn't mean there is a fraud ya. The bank recognise this as possible fraud and blocking/cancelling the card is the risk management action that they take. To complete the fraud reporting process, one may be asked to fill in a dispute form, please do so that the processes are complied with. If in any doubt, refer to the T&C of your card usage. There is a mention on this process and this is the official process that the bank will executed in the event of a fraud case.
