QUOTE(rko0504 @ Nov 15 2022, 09:45 AM) Hope that uob or pbb will participate. Same. Hoping of PBB as well. So far I can only use Apple Pay just because I have a Maybank savings account. ATM card is a debit card by default. Use it once in a while only when convenient.

QUOTE(gastacopz @ Nov 17 2022, 12:40 AM) because PB and CIMB among the pilot bank test during initial testing.. Not sure why others not joining And both are with Google Pay now. Per recent Google Pay announcement, I noticed those banks are not offering Apple Pay, vice versa.

QUOTE(isr25 @ Nov 30 2022, 04:32 PM) CIMB will join ApplePay 2H 2023. HSBC / OCBC / UOB no indications yet, but it is likely it will be the same timeframe. Guessing that Maybank, Ambank & Standard Chartered have 1st mover advantage with Apple for 1 year. Any rumors on PB?

Just say/ask for "wave" and wave the phone on the NFC reader when the cashier finished set it up
Never failed so far.
Though I'm curious if there's failed case, after reading few replies above. Anyone?

QUOTE(liberty0480 @ Jan 25 2023, 03:05 AM) Couldn’t use Apple Pay (Visa) at one of the Korean convenience store chain. The error message when the transaction failed IIRC was “Timed Out [Error Code]” and the terminal is a “Plug n Play” branded terminal that looks similar to the one below: The store-keeper asked if I had a physical card beforehand and advised that Apple Pay may take a lot longer to go through. I am wondering if it’s a connection issue that has caused the “Time-Out” (affecting all card transactions) or did the store managed to “ban” all mobile contactless payments. Just curious so how did you proceed to pay? Wave using physical card?

QUOTE(BYJK @ Mar 17 2024, 04:25 PM) It’s been a year and a half since Apple Pay was launched in Malaysia, and apart from Wise, there hasn’t been any additional banks/wallets that have adopted it. After months and months of “coming soon” from BigPay and Hong Leong without any news, I gave up waiting and just closed my other accounts and opened a Maybank account. I suggest you do the same too. This is the point of competition, I suppose—Maybank gets a new customer because it adopted a popular technology, offering it for all its debit/credit cards, while the other banks lose a customer because they drag their feet, probably because they’re unwilling to give a small cut of the transaction fees to Apple. My main cc is Public Bank Visa since 2017. Love the cashback campaigns. However no Apple Pay. I couldn't wait so I went for SCB card back in Dec 2022 just for Apple Pay lol. It becomes my secondary card. This post has been edited by jimbet1337: Mar 18 2024, 08:19 AM

Same. Banks of my existing credit cards(s) opt for Google Pay only. Two years ago I had to apply a basic credit card from other bank who offers Apple Pay.
So damn convenient for shop/kiosk purchasing. Travelled a lot to SG lately and I just tap the phone for MRT rides.

QUOTE(Icehart @ Dec 31 2024, 11:55 AM) Anyone have any insider news as to when UOB will be supported? Kind of weird UOB MY not supporting but SG can. Same like OCBC. SG yes but not MY. The reason why I applied for StanChart basic card 3 years ago 😅. Still keeping the OCBC card though.

Still no sign of Public Bank also.
