TnG has the NFC tech, now it's just a matter of whether they'll suck it up for the sake of their customers  vmad.gif

Bombard their socmed. Every single socmed and probably CS as well. They would probably budge.

Jus wondering what are holding back other local FIs and intl FI from implementing AP locally. Hmmmmm... cost? revenue? (pandemic years they record more earnings than pre-pandemic) tech?

Subang Parade parking ok. Entered and exit with iPhone. Managed to even get the "early bird fare". So I guess, 100% ok.

Just that when I exit, I realised i did a double tap too. Tap once, and it did nothing but iPhone says scanned. Tapped 2nd then everything ok.

*edit explain screenshot
Yes I know, it's weird that I mentioned parking but the screenshot shows Nippon Sushi. TBH, I also dunno why. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Agree. The fact that it doesn’t even have any social media page (Twitter, FB) already enough to tell how outdated their business operation is. And remember, swiping back to long long ago comment in this thread someone who was PB shareholder did ask about AP in the AGM and got the most *don’t care* kind of answer.

Even if someone managed to reach them out and ask them about the same question again, I bet this time skali they’d straight away say “… sorry, we do not have any intention to participate in Apple Pay programme at anytime soon”.

Went to JayaGrocer at Eco Grandeur Puncak Alam. During checkout i mentioned Paywave, once i took out my phone cashier immediately said Sorry Apple Pay not supported. Despite i saw the card terminal is issued by Maybank. Have anyone experience this, kinda weird. CMIIW all paywave terminal shoud be able to accept ApplePay right?

I think from now on, let's all just insists on telling the staff that we wanna TRY. Something fishy is starting already. Afraid maybe it's because of the MDR rate I guess.

What is the reason? does bank charge jaya grocer higher fee if the payment is done via AP?

They must be incentivised to implement this assholery policy.
*
Sales from AP could be lower.

AP: AP (makan) -> CC Network (makan) -> Bank (makan) -> leftover for merchant.
CC: CC Network (makan) -> Bank (makan) -> leftover for merchant.

AFAIK, the "standard" MDR Apple is charging (to banks I think) is 0.15%.

According to tiger faq for merchant charges no change
So retailer portion received not affected
I think it shouldn’t be the reason they refused to accept AP
Amex charges even higher even if AP charge on top of it
*
If that's the case, let's "stage" a walk out whenever a (big. small merchant give abit chance la) merchant refuses to accept AP no matter how fresh or good their service is.

Lol. What's with our merchants ah? Prior to AP launch, if anyone from overseas come and spend using Apple Pay, ok je. no issue. apa2 also nevermind.

Now? See us taking our phones or watch, "Sorry no AP here"

Can anyone from up there or at least, boss of a store tell us why? I believe you have no right to say "no AP here" when AP is literally just the same as using CC. If you have the right, then, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Especially if their terminal is MBB, I would call out their manager and ask them to read the said line by MBB themselves.

Same here, used my Wise SG card and no issues there. Don't know why now it's becoming an issue  mad.gif
I've contacted Maybank on this issue. Based on them, all their machines have been updated to support NFC and can pay using Apple Pay, however they asked me to lodge a report with the merchant management, Jaya Grocer, instead as they said the payment method is depends on the merchant instead.

Contacted Jaya Grocer, now waiting for their reply.

They replied to me they don't support Apple pay at the moment.

Also just now Apple Pay on a restaurant. First attempt failed, then the merchant open another app, Apple Pay success. I ask him why is this happening, he told me first app is for debit, second is for credit card higher charge.

I'm smelling BS here. Apple Pay works as long it's a paywave terminal.

Quick wallet question. Does anyone know if we can add air asia boarding passes to apple wallet, if so, how to go about it? I can see on the app store that air asia app supports apple wallet but I don't get the button to add it to apple wallet
