I dunno about u guys... but I am aiming the following specs for my new pc in 3-4 months time

E4300 - (hopefully can reach below RM500 after price slash)
Biostar TForce965
8600GT - (if it is around RM700)
Any good DDR2-667 2GB (2 X 1GB stick)
BenQ FP92W 19" Widescreen....
250G HDD

Finally, dual core and widescreen computing is becoming affordable... yummy!!

Info about upcoming price cuts on Intel's CPUs

One can only wonder what would make Intel cut prices so much, especially on their high end models! This move will truly bring quad-core to the masses. Is Intel scared of what AMD has in store? hmm.gif

where is the news that its confirmed intel will launch 45nm proc in sept?? its been delayed to 1Q 2008

it will launch its 1333mhz fsb proc in Q3 2007, which are based on 65mn arc.
if intel would have lanched them in 2007, it would kill off conroe and whats the point of lanching 1333mhz conroes in Q3??

Please wait for their kentfield processor. C2D is running in one speed but 2 processors. Kentfield is running on 2 speed with 2 processors. So better wait for their kentfield.

Ask yourself if you really NEED to upgrade your PC right now,
What's the upgrade for? Is your current rig still doing its job?
if you think you can wait, it means you don't need to upgrade now.

Both are coming out with Hafnium (?) based proc that said to be better than silicon. The Penryn is supposed to be using that, thus we'll wait and see

Hmm... where did you hear that? Electronics are semiconductors you know, if you want a better semiconductor compared to silicon, it is germanium, although it is more expensive.

Will the price reduction become permanent or its just a promotion where there's a period?

just out of curiosity.... will the price of hardwares closely related to proc go UP/DOWN ????? due to the fact that c2d price going down = more people will buy new pc ..

hardware such as:
1. motherboard
2. ram

will they purposely take this opportunity to increase the price>? or they will pull down the price to even attract "more" ppl to buy?
