QUOTE(justin_nys @ Sep 3 2007, 11:40 AM) Hi lee9171, mind to explain what hospitalization benefits are you refering to? Didn't know about that..thanks. when you are registered as a blood donor, they will give a small red book that you need to bring along each time you donate your blood it will keep record how many times you donate your blood there is some benefits that a blood donor depend on frequency of your blood donation eg: if you donate your blood for the first time, you will get free outpatient treatment (exclusive of x-ray and operation) at the government hospital & 2nd class ward if you are admitted to a government hospital for 4 months check this out for more info: http://jknjohor.moh.gov.my/modules/xt_cont...ndex.php?id=354 http://www.p.sabah.gov.my/qeh/pathobm_blood.htm This post has been edited by fahrur_07: Jul 27 2008, 06:25 PM |

It struck me as well at the part where he/she asked for a fee i apologize for the tone of my words, but that post just ticked me off. |

That must be just a joke.
Anyway, in most cases when checking the blood, if you're rhesus+ they wouldn't tell you much about it, but if you're rhesus-, the staffs will inform you about your special case, and request for your future donations. Rhesus- is rare in this region (SEA), but in Europe and Africa it's more common there. Either way, both rhesus would not affect on your health. I'm a G6PD too, last time wanted to donate blood but the doc blocked me because he says even if I donate the blood, the recipient would be affected with the G6PD as well, so better dont add more trouble to others. I heard there's also such thing as plasma donation which works for G6PD ppl, but the procedure is much more complicated. That's what I heard from the doc that time. Hope it helps for those who needs a little info bout donating blood. |
