You may be asking about new places around Seoul, but I suggest you to take midnight train to seaside and you will love it! if you prefer sightseeing.

From Seoul station take train all the way to Jeongdongjin, Gangneung. I went for a day trip. I took train and back by bus.

Hi,

Spring is one of the wonderful season to travel in Korea. If you like nature, many flowers are blooming during this time and surrounding starts to become colorful and warmer in the day. I live in Korea and spring is one of my most favorite moments around the year.

What do Koreans do during spring ? You might see some events for spring festival organized by the town hall. There are many such events during the weekends mostly held at the park or by the river. Koreans like to do day camp / picnic at the park and enjoy spring scenery. Mountain hiking is popular too during this time .

Try not to focus only on cherry blossom as they are many other flowers to enjoy during the day. It will be raining during this season so try to avoid visit cherry blossom park after rain. Cheers

Cherry Blossom season is over for now. I attached some photos of cherry blossom timeline so u may able to plan well for next visit. If you visit 1st & 2nd week of April I am sure u will be able to see Cherry blossom in Peninsula of Korea (exclude jeju). From buds to flower it takes around 2 weeks and it is difficult to forecast full bloom in 10 days in advance as weather condition might be different every year.

For me, the best moment to enjoy Cherry Blossom is during 'Full bloom' and 'Cherry blossom rain'. Cherry blossom rain occurs when flower start to mature and fall. With strong wind swipe pass the trees it forms a cherry blossom rain. The feeling is superb.

For people travelling after cherry blossom season, rest assured as there are many more flowers to enjoy during this time. Don't forget about fruits too.

Spring -
Small yellow melon (Chamoe) / Peach / Plum

Summer -
Grape / Watermelon

Autumn -
Jujube / Pear / Apple

Winter -
Strawberry / Tangerine (Jeju)

Happy Travelling !!!

from the forecast the winter this season for january and feb is not too cold.
but its too early to tell so hope for the best.

Weather for Dec, Jan, Feb is cold and you might have difficulty staying out for long. With the cold wave sweeping towards Seoul during these time you will need a windproof winter jacket.

Weather forecast in Korea is quite accurate and useful during winter season. Try to use is as often as possible to plan ur visit. Choose sunny day if you wish to visit outdoor and cloudy day for indoors attractions.

Clothing is important, get a good jacket. In Korea you can get a box of heatpack in Lotte, homeplus , daiso and try to use it as often as possible. During cold weather u won't able to walk for long, prob half an hour depending on weather n how well your body can adapt.

Unless snow mountain you may skip most of the botanical park as it is dull and empty during this time. Nami island will be good if it is snowing as it has nice scenery for photo. So use weather forecast to check which day is snowing and plan your trip wisely.

Also, we will be renting a van to drive around (8 of us). Nami Island ,Petite France , Garden of Morning Calm are one of our many itineraries. does anyone know how much is the entrance fee? issit worthy to buy tour packages just to use the entrance ticket? (because we will be driving there).

Thank you many!

Unless driver has driving experience in Korea it will be risky to drive in the peninsular especially Seoul. Some rules require dynamic thinking and Korean driving tolerance is low where you will feel stress driving in the city and highway. Jeju area is still okay as traffic is not as hectic as Seoul. Many deadly accident happened everyday.

If driver has no experience about korea traffic and language it is recommended to hire a local driver.

The stylish Koreans will attest to that

Well... Most of the Korean has a pair of mitten and winter gloves. Both can keep hands warm just that it will be easier to use phone when u wear gloves. Sometimes they wear mitten too.

During winter ppl dont stay outdoor for long. So we don't wear gloves often. Unless it is raining or snow.

Putting hands in winter jacket can warm our hands. Most of the winter jacket from Korean has a fleece layer in the pocket and it helps hand to keep warm.

If you tends to travel during this season. It is recommended to keep ur body as warm as possible. Because you will spend time outdoor. Cold will slowly deteriorate your body stamina.
