do your homework, rent a car and off you go smile.gif
driving in jeju is fairly easy (damn relaxing i must say) if you know where is your destination.

1. Do homework - eg. seongsan ilchulbong (save in your google maps)
2. rent car - they will provide a local guide book and MAP (this map is important as it has most of the popular destination phone no.)
3. Key in MAP Phone No. into the GPS provided
4. Whoila, just follow the GPS just like Waze.
5. remember to adhere to the speed limit.

and yeah, renting a taxi is freaking expensive in jeju compare to rent a nice comfortable car and you save ALOT!!! for more FOOOOOODSSS!!!

I have been there 3 times and I rent the vehicle from KT Kumho which is very cheap once you book as member.
the downside, you rent Sonata also kenot pandu laju sad.gif

Hi Yvonne, thanks for the feedback!

Travelling date is gonna be 3 - 14 Oct.

For Day 4, still not sure how will be the route, coz I check online, the distance between the two seemed not too far. I thought I could just use metro to travel back and forth between Insadong and Samcheongdong. Anyway might arrange again if it's not appropriate.

Noted on Day 5, what will be the earliest time to visit shops around Ehwa? 1030 hrs is it considered OK?

For Day 9, thanks for highlighting, seemed like it's really too far for me to visit Osulloc. Need to replan.
*
Ehwa - either lunch time or evening.

Jejuair booked, a better timing at 126,400won. (For 2 pax)
Cheaper comparing to BusanAir January fares.

Next will be hunting car rental.
Seems Hertz website is slightly cheaper than Lotte RentACar, but not too sure is it zero-excess CDW insurance covered by Hertz.
And where to stay. Targeting Seogwipo or Jungmun area...
*
your Lotte RentACar pricing you saw is after you login into your account?

3 times i also rent from Kt/Lotte RentACar. superb service/great car condition/good GPS and books/map provided.
if you plan to go for sunrise at seongsan ilchubong, advise you to stay at the hotel nearby = 5 min drive.

on my 2nd visit, i stay at seogwipo - damn giler jauh from seongsan ilchubong yawn.gif
3rd time jadi bijak... laugh.gif

There was an error trying to register an Lotte account, mailed them buy no reply yet.
but it still shown discounted price when I trying to book as guest. (MorningG - 138,900krw for 3 days included zero excess)
Hertz website quoted same car/time only 99000krw. (30% cheaper woh). And it might collect at Lotte same location.

Yeah, Seongsan Ilchubong is my top priority list visiting there. How's the night life there?
If stay there, still have to drive to Seogwipo since is my 1st time there. Just take it easy driving, enjoy the view. smile.gif
*
the lotte account, you can only see the member/lowest price after login. its the cheapest for me.
Seogwipo to Seongsan Ilchubong - around 2 hr drive man in the wee morning hour. (nth to see except darkness/light lamp and car headlight)
= 3AM+ you need to start moving out from seogwipo dy.

Night life = p*** belly and soju. except jeju-si, nth much to do at night also at other places.... hmm.gif

QUOTE(artman @ Oct 19 2017, 11:15 AM)
I emailed Hertz for enquiry, this is what they reply...

Greetings from Hertz International Malaysia(GSA)!
Thanks for your enquiries.

For rentals on Jeju Island only, the renter has no responsibility with non-waivable excess in the event of accident. (Korean Cars)
But for the imported car, the renter is still responsible for non-waivable excess of 300,000 Korean won.

Upon arrival at Jeju Airport:-
•      For car pickup, the shuttle bus to Jeju Auto House to be boarded right outside terminal, in between gate 5 or 4 after collection of the baggage.
•      Shuttle Bus Journey (Airport – Jeju Auto House): 10 – 15 mins v.v. (depends on traffic)
•      Upon arrived at Jeju Auto House, please collect your queue number before registration.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further information.

Best Regards,
Hertz

Means Hertz is same with Lotte, but cheaper  icon_rolleyes.gif
Still not understand why if book through Lotte, there's zero excess option where Hertz no need for Korean cars.
*
that great then. means you book from Hertz Malaysia instead of Korea?
Hertz rental in MY (KL) is damn freaking expensive / atas pricing laugh.gif

*
just rent a small car if you are not comfortable with mid size car.
it will make your experience in Jeju much more satisfying thumbup.gif

hi... I am going to Korea end of this month. i would like to know what is the best way to spend money there? i.e change won from Malaysia, or bring RM and change to won in Korea or use credit card there?
*
of course will be bring WON to there. you need to chg to USD then to WON at South korea. they do not accept MYR iinm (that's what i did previously).
Aside that, i also enable my CC for Car rental and some shopping when kenot tahan but kenot use cash tongue.gif
