Hey peeps, quick question. Why are Eastarjet tickets from Gimpo to Jeju sold out like, in one day? I just checked a couple days ago there were no flights available i.e. there wasnt even any info on the flight schedules. And the next day they were all sold out?
*
Flight schedules are usually fixed, but whether it's available for sale or not is a different matter.

Promo tickets from April 2017 onwards are now available on the website and do check it out. I've gotten mine at RM360 return.

Just come back from Seoul yesterday, booked from Klook.
From KT olleh, very smooth and the MiFi last longer..

You can create new account using this link: https://www.klook.com/invite/Z6O9B?c=MYR

Hi, did you pay the deposit required when collecting the device with credit card? I saw a person's review that mentioned that he had to pay in cash. I recall that I could use credit card for deposit in my previous experience booking through KT Olleh's website directly.

Yes I do, they just want to secure it only. but no any charge for the card.

Thanks for the clarification! Just realised that the Klook deal's description also mentioned:

"From 1 Jan 2018, local operator has stopped accepting cash deposits. You will need to have a credit card under your name, with more than 3 months validity, to pay the deposit"

Another question: Is data quota unlimited and not throttled?

By the way, do we need to make full payment for the wifi rental on Klook first? Sorry, i'm not too familiar with this platform.

No data limit. The speed was just good for me in 7 days.

Full payment with Klook. But if you change your mind you also can Free Cancellation - 48 Hrs Notice.
The refund button will show after you booked.

Excellent. Truly appreciate your feedback on this. I think I will give Klook a try for this KT Olleh wifi deal. smile.gif

Generally, is RM200/day enough for food and transport in Seoul?
*
Should be enough, if you stick to KRW10,000 per meal and travelling only on public transport.

That's my plan.

Budget meal for breakfast and lunch, something better for dinner.

Some guesthouses provide basic breakfast like toasts and cereals, so you can save a meal there and spend more on other meals thumbsup.gif

Hi guys,

I'm planning to rent car at Jeju from either AJ car rental or Lotte rent a car.

Can anyone confirm any additional cost besides pay for the international license of RM150 and total 2 days car rent of RM 250.

Do we need to pay for insurance as well
?

Thanks in advance
*
Insurance is optional and there's partial and full. I recommend to get full insurance (zero excess) so that if anything happens, you don't need to pay a single cent. Based on experience, it's around KRW25,000 for full insurance on Lotte rent-a-car.

No extra charges and you pay the final amount inclusive of your self-opted add-ons. If you don't return the car with full tank, then there's extra petrol charges.

Hope this helps smile.gif

10% VAT included in the price of items/services quoted. Certain places offer instant VAT rebate with passport scan, or VAT refund receipt (to be claimed at airport).

Just came back from Seoul yesterday. Most trees are still without leaves and no cherry blossom was visible at most of the places that I have been to like Yeouido area. Not sure about the southern parts like Busan or Seoul though.

And currently there's haze (fine dust) all over Korea too....

How's the thing there ?

Recently has those scandal case all over sad.gif
And yesterday also got news regarding on "hidden camera" in several hotel

Makes me no hype on my upcoming Korea trip  doh.gif  sad.gif

Same old same for Korea, even though it's going through a period of scandal "detoxification". For hotel stay, i think if we go with the decently reputable ones and be vigilant, we should be alright.

I would advice those who are going soon to pick up a few N95 masks just in case the haze comes back intermittently.

Or Digi 3-day roaming pass (RM25 for 2.0GB data and 30min local calls) for single person, if you're on Digi network.

Just back from Korea and most of my purchase/dining/transportation taxi all using BIGPAY card

Swipe rate is from 3.54~3.56 (Pending)
Now back Malaysia and saw some settled rate this week at 3.53 rate biggrin.gif  rclxms.gif

Definitely recommend you guys to use BigPay since Korea accept card everywhere.

Do note that when i plug your card into machine, it doesnt require any signature / Pin except Lotte Mall/Mart or Duty Free place which require to choose currency rate (PICK KOREA WON)
(How to calculate? KRW 1000 * 0.00354 and you get the amount to compare )
Lastly i only brought KRW200,000 which leftover from 3 years ago trip  sweat.gif
Went for 11 days and the last hotel i stayed (from booking.com) does not charge my card as they just changed their system so only accept cash which cost 165,000 for 3 nights, oops  tongue.gif
*
Yea, I also used Bigpay most of the time during my trip to Korea in April. Card acceptance is very high except when purchasing at roadside/market stalls. The smallest amount that i've swiped before is KRW1,000 on a Binggrae cultured drink at a convenience store biggrin.gif

For a 4-day Jeju trip, do i need to rent a car or just bus ride able to cover the entire island?
*
Strongly recommend to rent a car, especially if you have travel companions to share the cost. It will be substantially easy to move around and you can save a lot of time on waiting for buses.

Thanks. Just 2 of us therefore I'm considering bus.
Do we need international license to rent a car there?
*
Yes, IDP is required in Korea and it will cost RM150 for that with 1-year validity.
