Hehe....probably bcos i have zero knowledge compared to japan.  i guess my main challenge is logistics and getting info from the korean website.
While i know the where i want to go ( see below ) i am not sure where are the places of interest to visit. So far, my messy plan is below -

2nd Jan Day 1  - Hongdae
3rd Jan Day 2 - Palace
4th Jan Day 3 - Busan
5th Jan Day 4 -  TBC
6th Jan Day 5 - Everland/ seoul land
7th Jan Day 6 - Nami Island
8th Jan Day 7-TBC
9th Jan - Check out
*
kind of messy i would say.. sweat.gif

btw you won't need logistics related information if you travel to south korea right? also you need at least 3 days 2 nights in busan. where is your base? (i mean your lodging place? you also need to check the palace closed day. different palaces do have different closed day. unless you plan to visit alot of palaces in a day else you won't need whole day. hongdae is not a place of attraction. it's a neighborhood for students, youngsters, art or indie cultures, etc..

sorry noob question..:>

in korea using sim card for data or better buy pocket wifi before arrival

10 days - stay.

Thanks
*
depends your needs. if you are alone. sim card is enough. if you are in a group, it's better to get pocket wifi imho

Hi all Sifu,

I would like to ask about accommodation in Busan.  It is staying at Nampo-dong better than Seomyeon?

Any recommended Airbnb or Hotel around these two location?

thanks.

I rented a pocket wifi from Klook for abt RM10 per day.

Only set back is they charge the deposit to your credit card. When the deposit was refunded, incurred abt RM10 in forex difference.

Check out Klook website for details. If you are a first time user, there will be a rebate code, for your first booking.
*
If in such case, i rather you use pocket wifi which can be rented locally. You can check out Travelrecommend or Roamingman next time

thanks for the info:)
not planning to bring lots of cash. probably gonna just change MYR1.5K and rely on credit card.
hope the cash is enough for 3 days in seoul.
*
no worries. lot of the places accept credit card except those stalls. SK currency is quite low lately, change some and definitely can last you for 3 days if you didn't buy alot of stuffs laugh.gif

thanks for the the suggestion and tips

hope my 2 kids and my mother can tahan the korea winter ... estimated temperature this time? subzero degree?

For the nami island day trip, my previous experience tell me that very unlikely for us to able to wait till the nighttime illuminationin for garden of morning calm especially during a winter time  bangwall.gif  doh.gif and not aware of the far distance of nami island to garden of morning calm.. Winter consider high or low seaon? Q for Bus will be long? on time? seem may need to spend more $$ to charter a private car then  cry.gif

frm Gyueongbok palace - > bukchon hanok village, nothing nice in between that worthwhile visit ? any instagram worth picture spot?  tongue.gif  does it funny if take taxi in hanbok or makan in restaurant wearing hanbok? as mostlikely we will hanbok rent for the whole day

Taxi in korea all pay cash ? or can use T-mobile card/ credit card / payment by apps? And since we are travel in 4+2, seem i will need 2 taxi then
*
winter in korea is quite harsh and especially when the wind blows.. better well prepared rather than regret.

during winter, don't think you will wanna walk that much outdoor biggrin.gif so from Gyeongbokgung to Bukchon mostly is shops or cafe's.. inside bukchon do have few IG photo spots though

what kind of bus you mentioning? if you are not sure about the route, better don't take the bus.

it's not funny if take taxi in hanbok or eat inside the restaurant. i would say inconvenience only but better than kimono as it's not fitting tongue.gif

taxi accept t-money, credit card and cash. but some outskirts area, taxi may request cash only.
