Hi all...
I'm planned and booked my flight to Osaka. However, is in mid-June. Hence, Okinawa not so doable for me as I planned to do diving initially.
Last minutes book last year during zero fares promos.

Below is my drafted itineraries:

Day 1: Osaka > fly to > Hokkaido
Day 2: Hokkaido - Furano (Flower Sea) - Hakodate/(commute overnight Shinkansen Hakodate - Tokyo)
Day 3: Tokyo - Day Trip - Jalan2
Day 4: Tokyo - Day Trip - Fujikawaguchi-ko (maybe overnight, depending on flower season/mt fuji hike)
Day 5: Tokyo - Jalan2
Day 6: Tokyo - After Tsukiji Fish Market - Jr Train to Nagoya OR Kyoto - Kyoto Half Day Trip
Day 7: Kyoto Jalan2
Day 8: Kyoto Jalan2 a bit and go back Osaka n Jalan2 a bit
Day 9: Universal Studio/Harry Potter Theme Park
Day 10: Jalan2/Half Day Trip until Flight going back KL

Jr Pass is 1 week validity. Planned to use from Day 2 - Day 8.

Since diving no longer valid to me due to jellyfish season n non-whale n non-hammerhead season, that's y planning to Touch N Go in Osaka. Will come back here next year Apr Spring and explore down south, Hiroshima etc...

Hokkaido, I've been there b4 last year but during Winter month for ski, Otaru, King Crabs. Thinking to explore the Sea Flower, Yubari Melons, Missed my Miso Ramen, and probably dropped by Otaru for Squid & Sea Urchin ice cream.
Me and my partner are not really city people. We preferred Natural Stuff more...

Is the above plan doable? Is a bit rush as it seen, since we're still young; thinking a bit of challenge like this can be done?
Is there any overnight Shinkansen Train from Hakodate to Tokyo?

shocking.gif so ambitious?? it's better to skip hokkaido. plan for another round if i were you. you need to spend more days in hokkaido to fully explore including surround area.. however your itinerary quite rush
*
Well, Hokkaido been before edy. So that's y dont plan to stay too long.
Main focus will be Furano Sea Flower and Hakodate.

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Apr 4 2017, 03:00 PM)
Too greedy. You will not get to explore the place fully. Only see abit and there, back to Malaysia you'll regret of putting yourself through this itinerary. If I were you, stick with Osaka only. Tokyo 1 week definitely not enough. Just Tokyo alone there are Shinjuku, Shibuya, Odaiba and Ginza. These places takes at least 1 day per district, not to mention Disneysea/land, Mt Fuji. Osaka itself have Kyoto, Nara, Kobe to visit as well.

If you want to explore fully the cities, go to only states. Osaka + Tokyo is also too rush imo for 10 days trip.
Mine was alot cheaper. RM767 to Narita. laugh.gif That time was having promo and not AA.
*
Not really a city person. And no plan to explore the place fully. I even planned to cut off Tokyo one day.
Like I mention earlier, I will go Osaka again next year and explore down south in Spring 2018. Hence, that's y Touch N Go in Osaka.

errr.. then as your liking, stick to those places as per your planning  tongue.gif

just that imho i feel it's kind of wasting the time plus $$.. or perhaps focus on other new places instead? but that is just my 2 cents  biggrin.gif
*
U have a point!
But the reason I posted here is not really looking for troubles. All your comments are valuable. That's y I keep emphasize that my trip is focus on where I wish and wanna go only. The rest of the point of interest, leave it to next trip, Japan its not my once in a lifetime journey.

All I wanna know are below the questions:
I know its rushing, tats y I emphasize on my point that this trip the focus is different. It's seems doable to me. And I will do it!

And...

Is there any overnight Shinkansen Train from Hakodate to Tokyo? Can anyone share the schedule?

I'm tried to look around but hardly found any, tats y I ask here...

if you are really thinking doing like that, then why dont just do a train trip, spending nights on the train instead of any hotels, that way could save you money.

you can try to look for something like
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunrise_Izumo

This are something i always wanted try to do, extremely fresh experience for me. There is a video for it.

Yeah! Thanks for the input!
Will consider this in my next trip!

It's not impossible, but you'll be more tired from going from one place to another than anything else... rclxub.gif  why not just focus on one or 2 places? doing all 3 is a bit crazy... you might end up like a zombie and just able to touch the surface of all areas.
*
Yeah! It's crazy I know that's y I have some questions to solve before going ahead...

hahaha... This trip is not travel specifically in exploring the whole area in Japan. But specifically in the area that happen in that season like Furano Sea Flower. My travel this way is like Spring in Hokkaido slowly heading to Summer Skies in Osaka.

Osaka and Tokyo won't run away or disappear anytime. If I miss anything, I can always come back next time and try something else. It's an adventure! I enjoy the moments and the memories I've been.

Furthermore, I plan to grab a Jr Pass Green Card. Planned to utilise it. Focusing on a train ride down from Hokkaido to Osaka. Stop by couple of days in Tokyo and Kyoto. I can come again next round doing Osaka-Okinawa-Ishigaki-Yonaguni and probably some place down south.

Back to question:
Wonder where to get the Hakodate Shinkansen line time table to Tokyo? Is there a train commute at night?

Sure bro. Managed to nix a deal with Peach Airline KIX to CTS for RM280 one way with 1 checked in baggage and pleasure seat smile.gif
Almost same price for me to fly in from KUL to CTS last year. As I bought the return flight to Hokkaido from KLIA2 for just only RM271 (launching promo)

For places tat may need to hike, depending ...
My partner even ask me and my JP friends to become tour guide and hike Mt Fuji.

I'm ain't superman... probably just send my drone up, scout, and take some nice aerial shots of Mt Fuji. Hopefully skies is clear...

Some drone ... regulation in JP: (just fyi, if anyone bringing in... )

*
Many Thanks ~ Yvonne for the time table. Will take trains around 6:20 am - 7:30 ish am train shoot down to Tokyo.

My JP friends told me, Shinkansen Train at night usually there having maintenance. And the Rail usually caters for shipment and freight at night.
Passenger train only runs in the morning till night.

Next ... is for me to find out any places is a must-do in Tokyo?

Osaka? Thinking to fly EVA Air with Hello Kitty Theme next year via Taiwan ... may plan this for 2018 Apr. ^^

Sure! City and shrine is forever will be there one!
This can cover next round when I fly to Tokyo alone without jr pass. This round with Jr Pass so plan to travel around more.

This trip focusing on those that is slowly disappearing like nature beauty. Just booked a trip n 1 night to and in Tateyama - Mudoro Alpine Trip to see the Snow Wall and Kurobe Dam. Tateyama GreenView Hotel very ouch! The price so expensive but nvm got onsen and half board to enjoy! Walking distance to Tateyama Station.

no problem  smile.gif  for the places is a must do in tokyo.. actually too lengthy to be listed out haha. you can go japan guide website to check it out which places you prefer and draft out your itinerary. because different people have different preferences. eg. when i was in tokyo, i went to visit the robot restaurant, some unique cafe's but doesn't means others prefer
you visit japan more frequent than me eh  sweat.gif
*
Yeah... done some research throughout the day ...
Got a rough idea what to do ...

Probably skip Tokyo Tower, but may view it from Shiba Park.
My drone can view higher tongue.gif save money, time, and queue.

Wanna round up some of my Must-Do itinerary... Will update itinerary soon too ^^

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Apr 6 2017, 12:50 PM)
Ah i agree. If you can, why not splurge a little on 1-2 days, right? It may be costly but worth it! You're paying for a memory that will last you a lifetime (well, slight exaggeration haha!). If you like nature and snow, I'll definitely recommend Shirakawa-Go (during winter) as its under the UNESCO world heritage site.

And another place - if you like shrine - the Ise Jingu in Isejima (Ise island). Its the purest and most sacred shrine in Japan smile.gif totally in my bucket list, but I'll happily recommend it to people who enjoys visiting shrine and nature.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Definitely will go Japan during winter again. Tho I came last time before but in Hokkaido. And I missed Ice Festival too ... hahaha...
Put it as next round!

Working up on Tateyama Alpine route. Lots of homework to do ... hahaha... very excited. Cant wait for it!

Hi all,

Group of 5 of us going to Japan in May from 19th-27th.

19th-21st Osaka
22nd-23rd Kyoto
24th-27th Tokyo

We're planning to take the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo.

Would like to know if it is necessary to make ticket reservations in advance or we could just buy it on the spot? Does it usually get fully sold out?
*
Based on my research, train reservation only can be done when U r in Japan.
Yes, it can be purchase in advance. Fully Sold Out is possible but their train are quite frequent commute. This one full, take the next then.

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Apr 17 2017, 11:32 AM)
only 1-2 days in kyoto...oh well if that's your choice

based on my experience, you can either book shinkansen tix in advance or on the spot
*
hahaha... at least better than mine ^^

I covering Spring [Hokkaido] - Winter [Moduro] - Summer [Osaka]

My Plan: (verified with Japan Friend, workable) biggrin.gif

What is the best and easier route from Toyama to Kyoto Station?

Coz coming down from Tateyama edy. Planning to rest in Toyama first. Next day only go Kyoto. Or should I go direct to Tokyo first from Toyama instead?
