pergi tokyo HND...balik from hokkaido CTS

28 - 3 tokyo...
3 - 6 sapporo...

will use vanilla air from tokyo to hokkaido...much cheaper..
hard to understand on passes...so many of them...and expensive...
we'll be staying at BNB tokyo and sapporo...

my wife still working on the itinerary...
we're planning to bring along rice cooker...
do we need transformer for that? 110v to 240v...
where to find arr?

Just a question to those ladies who have experienced the onsen in Noboribetsu. I just booked a hotel in Noboribetsu for the CNY eve, and my 2 teen daughters found out from their classmates that all have to be naked (only a piece of hand towel allowed) in the public female onsen.

Both of them are very uncomfortable and shy now .... May I ask, is  that the real situation for all public onsen in Japan?

Holy shit. I just did the calculations for a 21 day trip from Osaka-kyoto-tokyo

2100 for rail pass.
200 per pax for accommodation air bnb (2 of us. 200 myr per night)
flight from Kuching to KL (round) 500
flight from kl to Osaka (round) 1800
250 myr per day per pax = 5000

total up spending 11k for 21 days itinerary.

am planning a proposal there. she can't afford it. I can't pay for her

Disagree totally. Three weeks leh, 10 days is more than sufficient to comfortably do all the major attractions in Kansai. Then the next 6-7 days in Tokyo city and another 2-3 days in greater tokyo area. Not touch and go at all

how long the journey/duration from Osaka station to Kyoto Station?

Just had a discussion with my girlfriend,

We will travel to Japan in October/November.
Arrival at Osaka via Kansai Airport.
Spend a three days in Osaka region,
one day in Mount koya,
one day in Nara,
travel to Kyoto and spend four days there
from kyoto head to kobe and stay there for two days.
and return back to Malaysia via Osaka (kansai)

anyone who can share where is the best place to propose in your honest opinion? I was planning a scenic environment with little people and heavy in ancient Japanese culture possibly a castle or shrine or temple that we can stay in the evening.

Thanks for the reply.otaru maybe I will skip the overnight , but noboribetsu sure will stay one or 2 nights. Plan to stay till very late at otaru, coz hear the night scene at the river super nice, but don't know wat is the last train back to Sapporo. Do you know ?
Ok . Looks like will go to Sapporo before heading to noboribetsu . But my flight back to kl, is Sunday morning 920am japan time, can I get transport to aiport from the onsen hotel in such early timing ?

I checked the weather , looks like April still OK, sunset at 6pm+ like Malaysia

Hi guys.  Read through the last few pages, it seems more travel info on osaka compared to tokyo.  I have bought tickets to tokyo for one week in Apr 9-16 in 2017.  Will like to find out some info which could aid me in the trip.

1.  I kinda know that JR pass is about train travel.  I want to know if I should get one if my one week trip is purely in tokyo.  I'll land in narita on the 9th, and fly back to to kl from narita on the 16th as well.  In tokyo, i'll mainly be staying in shibuya via airbnb.

2.  During my travelling period is it likely to catch sakura blooming period or am I one week too late to arrive at tokyo (9th April)?  If still in time, which place in tokyo will have carnival for sakura viewing?

3.  I plan to visit tsukiji market salmon auction on the very first day i touchdown.  Is it advisable to book a local guide in tsukiji market to secure a t-shirt for the salmon auction viewing?  I read the queue has to start at 1am, and by 3am all t-shirts will be given out.  Also, are there any recommended places to stay around tsukiji market?

4.  I want to try to dine at one of the famous sushi bar like sushisho masa in roppongi or hashiguchi in minato or harutaka.  I notice there is no direct way to make booking with the restaurant upfront.  There are online reservation sites like govoyagin that charges like USD60 just to help u book.  Is this the only way to secure a seat in those places are i read online these sushi bar need to be booked months advanced.

5.  I want to buy tickets to norah jones concert in budokan.  There are japanese website to book like udo.jp but i dont know how to navigate and it requires a member account which i dont know how to register as well.  There's alternate ticket site like viagogo.  Is that website legit to secure concert ticket or should i try to use udo.jp?

6.  Anyone knows of any good live houses around Tokyo and shibuya especially that features rock or punk rock similar to green day style (Anime nana and beck inspired)?

7.  What is the best way to have internet on my phone when i travel to tokyo?  buy a sim device there? Get a local tokyo sim card for that 1 week? or just activate roaming with maxis for that one week?

Hi All, need some help/advise.

Below is my plan/itinerary
14 Apr - Arrive KIX around 10PM. Go to osaka/namba area for accommodation.

15 Apr - 1st day in Osaka, Osaka Castle, Aquarium, etc.

16 Apr - 2nd Stay move to Kyoto, Arashiyama area.

17 Apr - Kyoto east side area, Fushimi Inari, Gion, etc.

18 Apr - Continue visit in Kyoto or leave for Osaka?

19 Apr - Continue in Osaka/Umeda/Dotombori/Namba

20 Apr - Early morning to KIX for return flight.

a) Should i opt for 3 days Osaka + 2 days Kyoto or the other way round?

b) As you can see, I am arriving late at night which will be a problem, should I stay near KIX and move to Kyoto next day? Or continue as my above itinerary.

c) Any advise/tips for arriving late night into KIX?
