My logic for spring is a little bit different tho.
Spring = gets somewhat warmer towards summer(i discarded heattech on 3rd day).
Autumn = gets cooler towards winter.

Soooo.... I don't have to worry about buying extra clothing article if I have to since I want to pack light.
I feel like quitting job here and go teach english thereĀ  tongue.gif

So as I understand, May is towards summer already right? Does it get warm enough that our normal clothes is enough during the day? Or is it still closer to Cameron Highlands kind of weather - sometimes cool sometimes warm, so prepare jacket. (assuming Tokyo)

And since it's almost summer, if one has to pick between Tokyo or Kyoto, which is better suited for the weather?

Anyone tried 1-day tours to Mt. Fuji and Hakone? Example: http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/detail/F880_/

Seems like the price not too bad worh, when compared to bullet train (unless you buy the JR pass la). But it's 2 hours by bus vs about.. what half hour by bullet train?

currency - better change before going to japan as you dunno you might need Yen immediately once you landed

credit card - it's widely accepted in japan except roadside stalls etc. Get a suica/pasmo card (debit card) for convenient sake; with it you can use it on public transports and 7-11 / familymart / lawson stores and easy to reload anytime with machines.

Can reload with credit card?

Hi everyone,
Currently planning my japan trip. Will arrive in Osaka and go back from Tokyo.
Btw first time going japan hence i need some advise and still in planning stage (Reading about JR pass also half dead d)

1. will 10 days be sufficient for Osaka, kyoto, tokyo and others like hakone or fuji five lakes (4 days for kyoto, osaka and kobe, 4 days for tokyo and 2days for others).

5. Better to get a sim card or mobile wifi? Any idea how much and which is better?
*
1. I'm also planning a similar trip, but I started with 12 days as my base plan. Enough or not is up to you. I've seen 7-day itineraries from Osaka to Tokyo. Depends on whether you're the type who prefer to visit a lot of places in one day or you like to spend as much time as you can in one location. If you just hit the main attractions, I think it can be sufficient.

I usually prefer portable WiFi because can share. And I always carry a backpack anyway. Plus I keep my own mobile number active, for just in case.

What I'm interested in, is how cold is November in Tokyo? Need prepare long johns? For reference, I find Cameron Highlands to be not cold at all, maybe a bit cooling during rain or at night.

also for those that have a lot of money to spare, do make a reservation for Kyubey sushi in ginza, it is 2nd best sushi i ever had after Jiro sushi (im sure everyone noe bout this 1) and its way easier to get a reservation. Took me 4 months just to get a reservation for Jiro sushi ><

Kyubey sushi is as fresh as Jiro sushi, price also almost the same at 40k yen per course. the different is the way they make it but both places sushi will also melt in ur mouth so definitely worth it if u got some money to spare.

When you say "per course", are you saying it's 40k yen per person?? shocking.gif

Do you have any recommendations for urchin sushi in Tokyo?
