Cool. I used to collect a lot of amulets mostly brought back from my thai friend.
I like to collect Luang Por Thuad especially those from Wat Chang hai and those from Luang Por Daeng(with a lot tangkai inside and with funny name like chek chek kam ma kam). I was so obsessed with it the old days and spent all my money and time in reading the magazine and recognize all the achan, their wat and their famous batch of amulet. But i almost forget all of them now except some very famous one.

This is Achan To from Wat Rakang. He made the most expensive amulet in the world ever i think. His somdej Wat Rakang is a bomb.

i believe if we are really interested in collecting amulets, we must always be aware lor...better get some knowledge before getting the amulets...for example, sometime people will say this somdej is made by Ah Zhan Do about 100 years...but guys, Ah Zhan Do passed away more than 130 years already, do u think he can do it ? I believe every amulets collector must be able to investigate before getting any amulets lor. hai mai sin ?

I used to keep a picture of the same of your avatar last time.
What you say is right, learning more before you buy any amulets. And dont believe in many of the so called experts tell you about this and that. I met too many uncle and even thai monk who told me they had more than 200 years old Luang Por Thuad and some even want to sell it to me. In fact the very first batch of Luang Por Thuad was made in 2497(1954) by Achan Tim(Wat Chang Hai, white elephant temple) with the help of Achan Nong from Wat Sai khao.

Anyway no collector of local amulets? There are quite some well known one in Malaysia too and much more cheaper like Chao Kun Pao, Tok Raja and the butterworth LuangPor Win.

Basically, i did collect quite a number of amulets and even the takrut (tangkai)also...If you talk about local amulets, i also got but just few only, most of it are tangkai lor. I got 1 tok raja amulets made by chao kun chan, then most of my tangkai are made by LP win. Sadly to say that i don't have Chao Kun Bao's amulet ler...i saw 1 buddha amulet which is made by chao kun pao but is really damn expensive la. anyway, since chao kun pao is LP win brother "si heng", then should be fine la... icon_rolleyes.gif So far, most of the famous monk in malaysia also passed away already, quite sad..!  sad.gif  Just like LP Win, just passed away few months back...ai.... cry.gif

I didnt know LP Win just passed away few months back. R.I.P.
His tangkai was so so famous those day after all his legendary rumuor and the police officers that ask him to stop issuing tangkai.

I was away from BM so long and never heard of monks and amulets for many many years already. All my precious amulet and include LP Win Tangkai also got steal away by my friends and my mother given the rest away to my uncle who dont know shit about amulet without my permission. I was so damn pissed after i found out but it was already too late. He sold some of my Luun Nuen (First batch) amulet and so many of my LP Thuad. shocking.gif

All i left now is two amulet and 1 statue that i bring along with me to KL.

The first one doesnt look like a Kun Paen to me but i could be wrong because it is kinda blur after covering with all the gold film, and most of all im noob.

Is it look like a cock or a monkey under there?
And if it is a genuine one, it worth a lot.
edited: Forgot the Master name, not LP Sod. It is actually a series of amulet of a Buddha sitting on top of various creature like monkey and cock.

Erm it's a skeleton lol. Do you know it is from which master?
*
skeleton?
Or was it a kumantong?
I never see a khunpaen with skeleton.

QUOTE(kschong @ Feb 3 2007, 03:08 AM)
V3i HoN6, i think you are right. I also dun see that is khun paen to me as well. If both of us not wrong, the master is not LP Sod, it's actually LP Ban, Wat Ban Nong Ko, Ayuthaya. If it's genuine from him, this amulet worth about RM 10,000 to RM 20,000 in the market now. This monk usually made those amulets like somdej on top and the bottom is either cock, eagle or haruman. I also can't see that amulets clearly.

Sad to hear about your story, but luckily i'm always staying alone and don't let anyone touch my stuffs. Just because of that, all my amulets, tangkai and even lots of statues are all well protected by me.. wink.gif Hopefully, future you will get some back to you....May all the luck with you....

Added on February 3, 2007, 3:10 amBy the way, just for your info. LP Win actually passed away last year about Oct 2006. The temple kept his body for 100 days.  cry.gif

Ya. You bring back my memory.
It's LP Ban who made those somdej that sit on a cock, eagle, haruman, fighting fish and boar.

lordz,
You can check out here about LP Ban and compare if your amulet is anything like the picture below. If yes and provided that it is not imitate then congrats, those are really bombs.

R.I.P. LP Win.
Will post my LP thuad statue when i'm free.

The first and the last one are LuangPor Thuad which you can recognise by looking at the old monk sitting on a lotus. He is one of the most holiest and famous monk in thai ever.
The third and forth are Phra Pidta like what accessdenied said.
Pidta model are usually a chubby buddha sitting with crossing legs and covering it's face. I heard they wear Pidta for wealthiness.

QUOTE(accessdenied @ Feb 5 2007, 04:30 PM)
it is LPT. green one is Phra Keow. Pidta is closed faced one.
LPT is known good for protection especially while driving smile.gifsmile.gif
pidta also of overcome danger. some for metta.

I cant recall the other similar amulets which cover not only face but body with many pair of hands. Is it something like Aranhang?? Is it said people wearing it may grant with great fighting spirit like wearing hanuman. Although I dont quite believe this stuff.

QUOTE(greyPJ @ Feb 6 2007, 07:55 AM)
yes correct, Dharma Protectors 护法神 will protect those who practise the Dharma (note that the holy books of other religions are also considered the Dharma by the Buddhas), so we dont really need material things for protection, moreover amulets things were never taught by the Buddha.

but we also cannot simply write off the power of amulets, a lot of people were unharmed in car accident and found their amulet broken into half or shattered inside the cover, i have a friend he visited Sydney Old Town, he took a picture of himself in an old head-chopping board, when he came back his amulet broke into half exactly at the head of the Buddha.
*
Ya. I believe it only work with great believe and the right heart.
Don't expect things like you will get girl or win lottery when wearing KhunPaen or wearing some 9 amulets at once and go rob a bank.
Doesn't matters an old or new amulet. Just make sure you get the genuine one from your Ajahn, wearing it with respect and such. A big miracle may happen or it may not. But at least their bless stay with you.

I personally heard and read a lot of miracle wearing an amulet.
My favourite one are the LP Khoon amulet that let this man live after hitting by 20 over bullets. All the bullets broke his shirt and stuck right at the outer skin. I saw the picture with his back all bullet wound. Wow. And the minister that survive in a car with m16 bullet holes all over like bee nest.

QUOTE(greyPJ @ Feb 7 2007, 06:28 AM)
lol, you are not chinese? how come cannot understand chinese english.

he had a picture taken in the head cutting stand, you know in ancient time the criminals were executed in this stand, where they lock the hands and head on the same level and release a big sharp knife from the top to cut off the head, after that he found his amulet broke into two pieces, head and body.
*
It's called the guillotine.

My friends KhunPaen also broke into two pieces at home while he is having an accident outside. Wonder what happen if the amulet is an metal/bronze one. haha.
