1. When they call you, make sure to take a record of the phone number & name of the contractor that comes

2. There are 2 types of installation:
A. For Full Fibre: The free installation is free for the first 15 meter from the point where they drill a hole in your house.
B. For VDSL: The free installation is free for the first 15 meter from the telephone port on the wall of your house

If they say the 15 meter is counted from the pole, they are trying to scam you, if they do this, quickly call TM helpline at 100 and report it straight away infront of the contractor. Even if they apologize, continue with the report, request TM to send another contractor. Provide the phone number and name of the contractor to the TM helpline

3. Make sure you have TV/LCD Monitor with an HDMI port so they can test the HyppTV
*
Hi, thanks for the reply.

Ok. I think mine would be the second option since there is telephone pole behind my house.

1. Do you have idea what type of router tm is providing now? any issue/problem with that? do i have any option to choose? it is necessary to get a better one (dont mind investing in a better one if the quality given one is so bad)?

2. LCD monitor, do you mean the normal desktop LCD monitor like samsung can be used for HyppTV? Coz i dont have any TV to test on as I am planning to install it in the upstair room instead of installing it in the living hall like most houses do.

I'm still using Google DNS until now, still working without any issue
Nonsense. Sape suruh pakai router TM, get a 3rd party router and you won't have that limited connectivity issue
I've been using UniFi with ASUS routers for nearly 6 years now, never had the limited connectivity issue thumbsup.gif
No, UniFi ports is limited, you lambat register, you terlepas la.
If port is finished, you may have to wait between months to years for TM to install another port, so act fast
What cable?
Telephone pole? If you're living in a landed house, you will be getting the Full Fiber
Only apartment & condos get VDSL
To me, it doesn't matter what router they give you, they're all crap. That's why I've always been using ASUS routers all through 6 years I've been with UniFi

Test what you get first. If you're not satisfied, then only buy a 3rd party routers
As I've mentioned earlier, you need to have either an LCD TV or LCD monitor with an HDMI port. Refer to the image below for what HDMI port looks like:
user posted image

If your LCD monitor only comes with a DVI port, then you'll need a DVI to HDMI converter like the image below

And this is how DVI port looks like:

Yup. Landed house. thanks for the info. appreciate that.

Agree. TM router memang teruk one. Any router brand and model that you would suggest to replace those lousy router? Budget around rm400-500

Is there any particular internet setting that we shall do in order to have better and constant speed? got to know that tm unifi 30mbps can be quite unstable and sometime you can get only 15-20 mbps. I guess it might be true. LoL

do I have to set the hyptv on that installation day itself? could we set it up ourselves later on if we want to use it. coz not so keen of using that at the moment. maybe after getting a new monitor only use it.

Save more money so you can jump straight to ASUS RT-AC68U
Or buy through installment with 0% interest using Maybank EzyPay
They will need the LCD TV/LCD Monitor to test it right away
Even if you won't be using it, they still need it to test HyppTV
*
ASUS RT-AC68U... haha. i wish i could afford that. the price i google seems to be out of my budget.

Need the adapter in order to for them to test. good to know that. thanks.

RM 179 free 600 min after that charge.

dont think so that 179 package has free call. the unifi website also no state. instead it only stated there that you can add on rm 20 for talk time.

Standard RM 179 has no free calls unless your dealers/agents have special arrangement for you.
*
what i got was a sms from a random hp number stating that my package rm 179 doesn't come with free call time. And if i want free call time, i need to pay Rm 199 for 2 years.

That is internet connection indicator. Green light is internet connected, Red light is internet not connected. Try restart router to reconnect.

may i know when you apply your unifi service?

i applied on 06nov not sure can request to cancel the free call or not which is from 199 to 179

thanks,,
*
I think you will also get RM179 packages. Coz right when i applied for unifi back in august that time, there is only Rm199. I just got my unifi fix this week and was informed thatmy contract is RM 179 with no free call.

i'm not interested with free call but my mum does.

very confusing hmm.gif i don't think got free call (RM 179) but the TM receptionist said got (during registration) then another said nope (during streamyx termination) literally, they confused with RM 179 vs RM 199  rclxub.gif

obviously, no free 600/1000 min for RM 179 package. TM insisted no package for 1000 min exist.

never mind once the streamyx officially terminated, i'll try to talk nicely with them again since my bro, mum & myself heard what she said verbally w/o any black & white (triple confirm)

@fruitie what's yr the average down & up? thanks.

i'm stuck with 28.xx down (highest) & 10.xx up (almost every speedtest i received this value)

average down is between 25~27. apparently, i can't achieve 3x.xx down. if no mistake i rmb yr speed always hit above 3x.xx right?
*
same situtation here. unifi 30 mbps. never achieve 30+ speed since day 1. only managed to get around 28+.

Never encountered any user complains here, maybe because most users are 30M users. I'm waiting for it to upgrade my speed but I think by then, many will be upgraded too and TM may cap the speed to 48M? laugh.gif
*
LOL. then "welcome to 48mbps club" phrase will come out. ya. hope tm will upgrade 30 to 50mbps. do you know any update on this? any reliable source?
