so here's the thing. My PC is upstairs n my TV is downstairs. Is it possible to have the hypptv box downstairs and the modem/router/whatever that is connecting to the internet upstairs? sorry if the question sounds simple n ridiculous. i really have no idea whats a btu unit n etc lol.
Yes you can. That's how I did to my unfi set up. My btu unit, router, phone, all of them were setup next to my PC in my room upstair, meanwhile, the hypp tv box was setup downstair, next to the TV in the living room. However, your HYPP TV box need to be connected to the router in order to work. So a long CAT5/CAT6 cable is needed (provided by TM). Depends on how far the distance between your router and the Hypp TV box. The TM guy who come to install for you will charge you if the cable length is exceed than their standard requirement. Mine was about RM130 since my room is far way from the living room.
Consult with the technician before the installation start. Tell him how and where you want to setup all those stuff inside your home. Make sure yourself or someone else from your family will stay inside your home and monitoring their work progress. All the setup should be free in charge, unless your cable length is exceed than their standard requirement. Those cable charges is stated inside that Unifi contract you received when you registered.
