Hi all,

I find my internet connection to China are specially very slow. The same with both my previous Streamyx and current Unifi service.

Example on mobile: download file or load a web page hosted in China are extremely slow or sometimes even stopped half way, but when switched to mobile data (I'm on Maxis), the page / file loads very smoothly. Another example: when I received forwarded video clip from friend on WeChat, the video load very slow or sometimes not load and stopped, but switched to mobile data and it continue to load smoothly.

Even tried on PC, using my phone as mobile hotspot load sites from China much faster than connect to router on Unifi or Streamyx.

Can I do anything to get rid of this problem?

I can see Time Fibre is coming to our building very soon, any previous Time Fibre user here have good experience with the connection to China sites?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

I don't have such issue though. I surf Weibo on my phone all the time and it is connected to my UniFi. It loads very smoothly.
WeChat no problem too, I always view videos and pages linked from China because all my friends in WeChat are colleagues from China, so all the pages are all from China sites.
I'm also an avid Taobao shopper and just placed my orders on Taobao China.

Wow... So nice you have a strong connection.

I think it is the routing issue, some route to China is slow. Nothing we can do about it

Too bad to hear that.

You need to use a VPN. Common problem for UniFi to have slow loading time to China.
Connect to HK server before connecting to China.

I see, so meaning should have a paid VPN service right? As I didn't see any good free service. Maybe you can PM me your recommended VPN service?

FinchVPN is pretty cheap and decent quality, if you're willing to spend more PureVPN.

Woo... Thank you zher4883, I will take a look at it tonight.

By the way, I was a BolehVPN subscriber last time, then later found their server reliability dropped, so stopped renew the subscription around more than a year ago. smile.gif

At that time (while I was still with Streamyx), their VPN seems not helping much for the connection to China sites. Also, their complexity for setting up VPN on mobile device also make me think the VPN service only work on PC but not other mobile device and it's kind of wasted, so I did not renew the service. blush.gif

Sometimes could be IP address issue, have you tried restarting your equipment to get another IP?
*
When the time I'm facing slow browsing, I did not restart the hardware because it takes time tongue.gif
So I try the fastest way, just switch to mobile data and immediately solve the problem. laugh.gif

While on PC (cable connected to router), most of the time I just give up and browse to else where far away from China. bye.gif

[EDIT]
By the way, if it is routing issue (I suspect it is), anyone had experience if Time Fibre any better?

It may be too late, but just to confirm that the site worked here too:

My TM's router start to show some problem, it is less than a year old so I think I should be able to ask for a replacement. The current silver router is RG-DLINK-WBR2300.

Sometimes, all my wireless device can't connect to the Wi-Fi. Wired connection to my PC always working fine. I have to restart the router for everything to back online.

How and what can I show to the technician about this problem when the problem is not exhibit? I cannot make it happens anytime I want, it only happens, like, once every 2-3 days. Can someone please help me how to lodge a proper report (such as, what to tell the #100 hotline people)?

Thank you in advanced! notworthy.gif
