After seeing 12 and Arms.... i kinda wish Nintendo release a Switch Version of Wii Sports.... That game is really an all age game and party game.

Agreed. Hopefully something similar comes out.

Personally, I wish they bundled 1-2 with the Switch.

Overall I am happy with the console, and the games whether Nintendo or third party. Looking forward to more of course.

I hope that Nintendo encourages and retains third party support which will be crucial in Switch remaining successful (avoid the fate of Wii which was successful then faded).

Personally, I do think price point should have been USD250 and not USD300.

Otherwise, totally looking forward.

Play Asia has listings ready, but no price or other information yet. Anyone with experience pre-ordering from them?

Thanks for all the information guys. Very useful.

By the way, Arms might be a possible 9th entrant in the Evo tournament this year.

1-2 should have been bundled with Switch by Nintendo. Wii Sports was the unifying experience factor for many Wii users.

It's possible that the failure of the WiiU forced Nintendo to take action earlier than anticipated, hence the low number of games at launch.

That being said, there seemed to be a message that they had taken on board criticism and studied the Switch very carefully. The console itself seems to be the best of all worlds, from previous ones.

Games highlighted at Presentation indicated that they were looking at a wide spectrum of games, both innovative and traditional. Also, 1st party and 3rd party.

In my opinion, they have a hit on their hands, with the only challenge of bringing as many games to the table as soon as possible. I predict that the Switch will be a huge hit.

With the failure to court 3rd parties, i would expect they have a 100% turnaround with the Switch, unfortunately, instead of learning from that lesson, they seems to be doing worse.

I understand they have to launch now in order to avoid fighting with Xbox Scorpio during holiday seasons. But the major 3rd parties publisher are simply not showing enough support. All we have are tons of indies, which is already on Steam and almost everywhere else.

Looking at it, the direction for switch will be Nintendo + indies, with all major publisher just porting  a token old game (Skyrimm, StreetFighter 2 Ultra HD....WTF!).

And what's even worst is...i would fully expect the indies on the switch will be way more expensive than other platforms (just look at the WiiU...Trine...Steam so damn cheap). Why would casual mobile gamers want to play expensive indies on the Switch? No way.

We are forced to pay for expensive new hardware just to play Nintendo's 1st party title again...when it looks like the WiiU can handle any of the Switch games (minus the Joycons). Even Mario Oddysey doesn't looks like out of reach for the WiiU.

Ultra Street Fighter is anything but a port, its been reworked from ground up. Watch Maximilian Dood's second video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW2u-VZs7JY

All of the arguments aside, what seriously makes Switch shine for me, and I believe for a lot of people, it is truly a super-social console. Multiplayer, anywhere, anytime, in tons of configurations.

Anyone with a Switch in their bag, has with them a device that will liven up any gathering. This is the x-factor the Switch has, which truly differentiates it from the other consoles.

It's too early to predict Switch will be a failure. I don't see anything wrong with the hybrid console, though internal storage should have been more than just 32GB. And I don't want to see a games industry that is controlled by Sony or any one company only. Boring la beb! So far, most of my favourite games are on Nintendo. I am mad at our region distributor but I will still buy Switch when there are better offers. A special edition maybe..  If the launch price is RM1600++ including those 2 games, then yeah it's definitely a steal.

Agreed. It's not perfect, but it also has lots of potential. Hopefully price reduction and increased storage in the future.

If the price goes down by 30% (including all those joycons, pro controllers and docks), then it will have a fighting chance. Until then, it won't be able to sell to the mass market, only the hardcore fans.

The storage, i am not so concerned. Most major titles comes in carts anyway (unless digital download is a lot cheaper, there's no reason not to buy physical carts). Looking at current WiiU, the digital download is just as expensive (or even more expensive than physical disc, which you can get discount from online and elsewhere), meaning no reason to download anything other than DLC or digital stores exclusive (Indie games probably). But 32GB is really pathetic. At least 64GB should be the standard.

Yup agreed. Personally I was hoping the rumours were true and it was to launch at USD200 - 250 range. That would have been killer. A bit of greed there on Nintendo's part.

On the demographic though, that's the beauty, where PS and Xbox were competing for the same market, Nintendo simply wiped up the rest of the market, which I would call the social or fun market, which led to stunning success for the Wii.

I cannot predict if it will do well or not, that depends on various factors already discussed. But I can certainly see its appeal for various categories of gamers. We cannot just see it through one lens.

Nah, the casual smartphone Candy crush gamer won't be bother with this. Casual gamers just wants to play for free or play dumb games. They won't be interested in Zelda or even Indie games, nor willing to pay that price. Super Mario Run proves just that. Millions of downloads, but the paying customers only a fraction.

They don't even wanna pay USD9.99. You think USD 59.99 games will sell to this demographic?

Wii was a success because the smartphone wasn't invented/popular yet then.
Need to repeat?

1. Crap launch games.
2. Expensive console.
3. Expensive games.
4. Expensive accesories.
5. Poor 3rd party support.

Instead of learning from Wii (cheap console), they managed to reverse the best from the Wii and even worse than the worst of the WiiU (even less launch titles!!!)

How can anyone be positive?? Mark my words, it will fail until they drop the price, which could be too late by then.
*
Ok we mark your words. If successful then how? Hehe
