You know, I've never really bothered with Nintendo stuffs (though I had very fond memories with the gameboy (all 3 versions), the wii and the SNES (not in any order).

But after reading up a lot of about the Switch due to making sure i wasn't getting my facts wrong after a forumer irresponsibly claiming its DOA; I really felt compelled to actually try to buy this device.

But for now i'm holding off just to confirm on few details (if the price is right I don't mind getting the Switch just for Zelda, even though i've NEVER played any Zelda games prior to this).

What i'm interested to see is how

a) the so called online services subscription works out. For now, i'm not sure but if i read it right, Nintendo only allows multiplayer over internet if you pay for the services. In return, subscribers get one NES / SNES game per month (so I assume its 60USD per year?).

b) Operation / gimmick? I'm sold on the switch because it feels a heck lot like an evolved, rather than a full blown revolution to Nintendo hardware, and a lot of them in a nice way, especially the concept that its actually a hybrid of a console and a handheld. The "ARMS" demo showed some really great concept that reminded me of the wii. OF course, I don't know if its almost to the point of detail like how Konami demonstrated the wii nunchuks to play Pro Evolution Soccer, but if it can do all that I guess it'll be a really, really great stuff and won't be a gimmick.

c) games pricing. This one made me concerned because games are starting at 60USD, and doesn't come pre-bundled (or at least a choice to buy the console and the first game at a discount), and i'm concerned if it only runs on the carts (are potential buyers stuck with only physical games? is it 2nd hand market friendly? etc etc)

Again, while i'm not going to pick it up at launch, i'm very excited to actually buy the switch even if its only for single player (which probably wasn't designed to be such case, as Nintendo games are very, very social in nature).

And you rather trust a forumer instead of your eye on the console itself? Lol. Just to clear your doubts.

1) Nobody knows the online subcription now atm, what I think they want to do is to gain feedback from their announcement and see what they can do from there. But thing is certain = works like ps+ and xbox live.

2) they already introduce alot of accessory for that thing. Just think Nintendo = Apple where they will always like to introduce accessories for player to buy. You're more than enough if you have the launch stuff since you want to play single player. Nothing more.

3) If you're afraid of no bundle then just wait for them to slash their price la. Nintendo always have a habit on slashing price e.g. 3DS and WiiU back then. These launch stuff is just always for those white mice/Nintyfag to try it on first hand. Concern it is too expensive/no bundle. Tunggu saja la. Is not that their games are going out of stock.

In the end it goes back to you. If you feel that a semi portable console is expensive for you then better stick to older console to play. Those people that says DOA yada yada didnt realize that Ninty is a trendsetter. Only Sonyfag will say other console is bullshit except for Playstation.

naw, i trust my own eyes and my own experience. I've always thought what would happen if the wii was portable and had better GPU. The Switch looks like it, and I really like it.

Play in toilet (WUT), play in living room. yank the thing up, place the joycons, and play on the move (during transit). Not bad!

Yeah, so like you've said, I'll wait for the price to go down, because right now i'm really sold on Zelda (its the touted "Nintendo's Skyrim"), so games with long play value like that (hopefully not grinding, just the experience that's long), definitely looking forward to that.

Wii U had Mario Kart, Mario 3D world, Mario Maker.. I think there was ZombiU bundle as well.. I don't really remember.. So yeah.. 90% chance switch will also have a bundle later on..

As for the games.. Even though the internal memory is 32gb there will be sd cards and of course digital downloads.. So no worry getting stuck with physical copy only..

As for 2nd hand.. I like to hoard my physical copies..

Oh? This is great stuff!

I'm not sure if you've watched the treehouse (i think that's what its called) where they showed off the Zelda limited collector's edition. That pouch though, its....SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

Imagine carrying that with the entire Switch Gear. HNGGGGGGH!
