it depends. i dn say rooting is not good. just personal preference. during those old days, we need root to boost device performance to max & modify ugly UI. nowadays Android OS & OEM UI is improving plus device hardware getting better. at this point, rooting seems less useful but adding more restriction by restriction on certain apps.

for app hack/crack purpose, im using Andy then port the mod to my unrooted device.

now we have Helium for app+data backup & mighty AdGuard to get rid of annoying ads & dns forwarding.

samsung pay wont work on knox tripped device while other banking app(s) wont work on rooted device. public banks app for instance, will kick out when root detected.
the workaround for this is by using xposed+root cloak. but not all apps will work on this method.

the package disabler can deactivate system apps same like package manager applet using terminal command. but using terminal doesnt work on certain app w/o root. using this app, this can be achieved w/o rooting by using samsung SDK.

disabling unused app will prevent it to be loaded during boot & real time which can save alot of ram. use with precaution btw. disabling some app may cause temporarily losing certain features.
