But that is why we should have bought off-the-shelf. We keep paying extra for TOT (eg Meko, Gagah Samudera) but we never expand on them and in the end turns out we could have bought off the shelf for much cheaper.

15 to 5 and the LMS buy is the single most sensible sounding idea I've heard in Msian defence for some time. Its just that we wish it wasn't China... and reportedly the boats are extremely low spec...

if you using Tacticos or other, it still need china write code to integrate there radar, Main gun etc to CMS, means extra cost from 2 party.

Royal Navy's 6 Type 45s for example, share 4 sets of Harpoon SSMs, whichever 4 ships are deploying gets them while the 2 sitting in dock don't. I can imagine us doing something similar if we actually do buy the gear. but did we ever buy the missiles for Kedah class? I don't think so... likewise for LMS will we actually buy the missiles? or FFBNW-but-actually-didn't-buy again?

1 more thing. typically MCM ships are built with plastic hulls. LMS-MCM won't be...?
