like murican 5.56 not effective against taliban in iraq afghan laugh.gif

now developing new round to replace 5.56

cant remember the caliber..
*
muricans experimenting with 6.5 grendel and 6.5 spc.
they found it as best of both worlds more effective as it has higher stopping power than 5.56 yet lighter than 7.62 NATO battle rifle calibre. but, with millions and millions of M885 green tip ammo in stock, the muricans aren't yet goin to introduce any of the 6.5mm rounds into the normal army. even Spec Ops types who use them are limited to a small number.

Haha like that ka....

Basically saying some stories say when police and soldiers sometimes shoot at the sulu gunmen with M16 or M4 with 5.56mm bullet, sometimes they can still run away. Maybe died later or something, but when hit can still move when they are hit.

But when they were hit with 7.62mm bullet from SLR or HK11 machine gun, usually they drop dead instantly.
*
even as early as Vietnam war when the black rifle were just newly introduced, plenty report come out from the goonies saying exactly the same. M193 is even worse than it's successor the M885 green tip.
but never with the 7.62 NATO - the term is DRT (Dead Right There)
Many USMC units held onto their M14 battle rifles as long as possible before being forcibly replaced with the black rifle because of that

Black rifle? M16? hmm.gif

Earlier M16 variants use 7.62mm IINM
*
yup.. they fondly called M16 as the black rifle. less friendly name was mattel toy. hahaha.
it was AR10 which fires 7.62 Nato. AR15 fires 5.56 Nato. almost identical innards, only different calibre

6.5 bullet will more heavy to carry, even Chinese also experience 5.8 also little more heavy.
for US body size maybe ok。
*
heavier than 5.56 but lighter then 7.62 but with equivalent stopping and killing power of 7.62. a compromise really as m4's short barrels didn't generate enough energy to outright killing the opponent. no wonder USMC sticks to M16A4 that has longer barrel than m4

agree, got pro and cons,  our asean more small size, if a army personal carry 6.5mm in 6xCartridge than alot heavy already.
*
thru disciplined trigger control, lesser rounds doesn't mean lesser enemies killed also. plus the DRT factor is a lot higher compared to 5.56

we deployed F/A-18Ds, Hawks, Adnans and MIFVs

yeah, I'd say it was as decent a war as you get around these parts.
No mang, European gendarmerie memang is like what you described in your original post. We seem to subscribe more to US model of policing with heavily armed policemen so we have no real need for gendarmerie.

Trawler, Barge Hijacked 62 Nautical Miles Off Bintulu Port

user posted image

A trawler and a barge, said to be on their way to Port Klang from Tawau, Sabah, were reported to have been hijacked about 62 nautical miles off the Bintulu Port, at about 8.30 pm last Tuesday.

However, Bintulu District 12 Maritime Director, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Maritime Captain Aminuddin Abdul Rashid said the trawler, 'Ever Ocean Silk', and barge, 'Ever Giant', were found at 3.24 pm yesterday by the agency's maritime ship, KM Jepak, about 30 nautical miles off Bintulu Port.

"All the 10 crew are safe and unharmed, but there are still in trauma," he said in a statement here Thursday.

He said the trawler and barge were hijacked by a group of robbers armed with machetes who not only took away the communication equipment, but also siphoned the diesel into their boats.

However, he said the number of robbers could not be ascertained, but they were in two boats.

Aminuddin said two MMEA vessels, KM Jepak and KM Tabah, as well as Bot Penggalang 33, were sent to track the trawler and the barge soon after the agency received a report on the missing boats.

He said the trawler and barge were reportedly laden with 2,499 tonnes of palm oil worth RM14.99 million.

For LCS ie Gowind? puke.gif sorry, I think ALL those names... don't sound good doh.gif

I like the Royal Navy and old Imperial Japanese Navy naming conventions - the RN tries to name them the same letter or theme (ie county-class) while the IJN includes some of their famous mountains; both of them as well as many other navies reuse historic names of retired ships.

I think mountains are nice. How about:

KD Kinabalu
KD Tahan
KD Ledang
KD Korbu
KD Jerai
KD Murud/Mulu

I never liked the idea of naming ships after people.

Sudah ada KD Jerai class MCMV. Design based on Lerici Class, built by the Italians.
