Under these fuses, open the 3 clips, pull up the fuses panel, then you will see the relay under.

3 big relays sit in middle, the first from left

Thanks! I just got myself a used FLX and that part doesn't light up at all. Probably just the light bulb that needs to be replaced.

Btw, I don't think I'll modify it like Wankel's since I don't really need it on all the time.

Saga BLM/FL no light, Saga FLX has light

QUOTE(AnnaHui @ Mar 9 2017, 01:46 PM)
Anyone Saga is above 100K mileage?

I heard from foreman that Saga usually have gearbox problem for 100K mileage and above. (For Auto transmission).

Anyone can share if its true? And problem with Proton Saga is that the belt comes a set with the gear box. So belt kering = gear box have to change whole set. No 2nd hand as well because only Proton using this technology. Other brand car can change the belt only.

Anyone know about this? Please don't shoot me, I just want to confirm if foreman telling the truth.

Peace smile.gif
I guess both Invecs and Punch CVT GB can be recond/repaired.

Invecs for BLM/FL is common 4speed auto gb
Punch CVT i guess is the one u mean with "belt". There are other car brands use Punch CVT gb lo.

From FB group, there is a workshop provide recond/repair service as Punch company is providing replacement parts

The cost is higher i guess ranging 2k-3k with 1free service included.

QUOTE(cyclone9 @ Mar 15 2017, 09:27 PM)
what is cheapest Insurance I can get for my 2008 Proton Saga BLM?
*
Third party Motor Insurance with Fire & Theft (But if you kiss other ppl car, you gonna pay for your own car repair)

Car Insurance rate is fixed, just get covered with agreed value/market value is sufficient.

DO NOT over-insured your car, it is a waste of money of your hard earn money.

If you have NCD then the premium is cheaper.

Agreed Value (TMIM) for 2008 Saga BLM is around 14K.

Other extra coverage like LLOP, LLP, All Drivers, Special Perils, Windscreen, CART, etc at your options.

If you need a quotation may PM me.

I'm agent for Tokio Marine Insurance icon_rolleyes.gif

Ahh.. How to verify our cars is type of iafm+ or iafm or others2?

As i check on my service booklet, the timing belt for iafm+ need to replace every 120k km / 72 month whichever come first.

Mean, i still can delay the replacement. Haha. But.. Takut jugak.. 😂
*
just change it earlier, it is not worth the bet

unless you monitor the timing belt condition weekly basis.

timing belt alone cost rm250 liddat

timing belt snapped can cost you more than rm2500

I replaced my flx t.belt around 90k mileage

after change no need to worry anymore

Hi All, just went for my 40km service and I requested the person in charge of my car to check my tyres if already requires switching. After he checked, he then advise me to replace the front tyres since is already not in good condition while back tyres are still ok. Anyone can recommend a trusted tyre shop here in puchong? I'm near in IOI mall.
My car is FLX 1.3 CVT.

Also,  as I checked the specs in proton website, my tyre size is 175/70 R13. Any idea on the price for this tyre size?

TIA.  biggrin.gif
*
13" tyre very cheap only, 130-150 sure can get ad, if those china/thai/vietnam made, price i guess even lower..

QUOTE(wankel @ Mar 19 2017, 06:56 PM)
Yes very different and be very careful, don't even rely on a workshop knowing how evil it is to put common ATF in a CVT. CVTs can be ruined by using ATF ours need fluid that's labeled EZL799 or EZL799(a) without that marking on the container avoid using it.
From what I've gathered unlike common automatic transmissions CVTs rely on friction between the pushbelt and the sheaves, so need an oil that provides added metal to metal friction, slippage here will damage the belt and sheaves.
Word of mouth here is that the filter is good for two oil/fluid changes, so ignore it at the 50,000 km change.
*
yeah... just use back Proton ezl799 grade CVT fluid to be on safe side

There some generic CVT fluid out there claimed for proton CVT without ezl799 grade.

btw, i done my cvt filter change at 60k and planned to skip 120k, only to change it at 180k, is this way ok?

A bit confused.. after changing our CVT (EZL799), do we still have to change our ATF?
And i suppose it has to be changed at interval of 50,000km?
*
EZL799 is CVT fluid grade

CVT fluid with EZL799 grade is the "ATF" for our CVT gearbox.

May refer back your car user manual, 40k interval for extreme drive condition, 60k for normal drive condition, 50k if you sayang your cvt more i assume

The sound abit similar with my flx when the fuel tank i whack till empty...

Warning light lit up and i still drive for another 60km++

It was late at night (1am++), told myself to pump the next morning then....surprise...!

Maybe something not right with the fuel supply side... pump? filter? injection? ecu?

Finally fixed it, I guess I open my rear boot too much, 2 of the wires of the harness actually snapped.. I just solder it back together and insulate it with shrink tube
My rear number plate is lit up again.!

Not sure the bulb holder will last how long, i guess will wait it till fully decayed..

Attached Image
Just realized the gear indicator bulb also kaput, the thermo bulb also burnt for quite sometime..
Anyone DIY to change these bulbs b4 ?

Best to get it diagnosed. Potentially the O2 sensor or mass air flow sensor needs cleaning/replacement.
*
Do you mean MAP sensor?

I clean once b4, using electronic cleaner spray.

Car less "semput" after clean the MAP sensor

Hi guys, quick question.. It's time for my car to do 80k mileage maintenance. Previously maintenance cost me rm1k+ at proton sc. sad.gif(((

Below is the list of items serviced (major service at mileage 70k)
[attachmentid=8661696]

My car using fully synthetic oil, this was recommended for me as a sales person who travel a lot within kl-selangor-Melaka-Johor. Average about 100km+- per day.

No more warranty, and guy from proton said 80k will be a major service as well. I guess it will cost a bomb again. sad.gif((
Can sifu advice? Any recommended service centre or workshop I can look for? Proton saja, mahal lah T-T
*
I do mine outside after warranty..

Previously using Bardahl Fully EO, price friendly, 115 like that

Timing belt kit around 240

water pump, cvt filter i skipped, cvt filter last change at 60k

rocker seal 40 like that

fead belt 50/60

labour charge i forget, parts bought from sparepart shop

Quick clean n little tree looks not needed items...

Something for Underzoom, a little piccie of my anti-seize, nickel in front and the larger copper behind. the little tube of nickel has lasted me for 16 years now and I expect it'll see me out with the few jobs I do.
[attachmentid=8727051]
*
I didnt go purposely buy,

used some MOS2 grease sample from my ex company to do the job,

applied it between the side surface where the drum pad and the drum base body touching,

as previously having some once a while "tak tak" sound, i guess it works till now...

Yes I was thinking of doing that but the other week when I pulled the drum off my lazy gene kicked in when I contemplated pulling the shoes off to gain access, so I just cleaned up the dust and inspected things before slapping it back together. The tac-tac noise is only a minor irritation and I had suspicions it may have been the shoe kicking sideways onto the backing plate, perhaps confirmed here.
*
I have that gene too... I just clean the dust with a paint brush and try to move the brake pad a bit to apply the grease...
