hmm.gif so IAFM is built for street racing...

to be honest, if my BLM run 90% highway 10% city, i can reaches 320km.

i tried 100% city, 230km to 250km only.
*
iafm is high rev friendly, you can feel the oomph after 2500rpm. before that, it's like a dead snake. probably that's why the fc so shitty in city drive. i can hit 360km on 80% highway 20% city. if 100% city with jam (office hour commuting traffic), sorry la, 260-280km.

yeah. the thing I like about iafm is when it is cruising at 120km/h, i still feel the force if i step on more gas..

Wow, you can reach 280km, with 100% city, because you drive like uncle?

And one more, how much do you pump your tire? i always pump 230 each.

yep, and it's a manual version of saga BLM.... biggrin.gif

I pump mine to 300, I feel all the standard views on pressures are way too conservative after I saw some advice by an engineer some time ago, so I pump mine up good and hard now, instead of just a bit hard.
*
300kpa, serious? ohmy.gif
i usually follow the markup of 10% on factory recommendation and it is already giving me a slightly bumpy ride but it is still acceptable for me). I think it may kill the bearing faster than usual, ue to the tyre is "harder" hence more vibrations is transmitted to the axle, and bearing is the one that take the loads.

good to know.. i was thinking why lah full tank also so hard to reach 300km.. it's manual so cant it at least a bit slightly above 300?? so manual version does drive slightly farther  biggrin.gif
*
i feel kinda unbalance that my father's alza able to hit almost 400km full tank for the same driving condition. but the ride and handling feeling of a proton, is something that you can't get on perodua. tongue.gif
yeah.... slightly..... further compared to auto. laugh.gif

oh ya.. i got something like this too.. when i entered gear 5 (manual), whizzing sound like aeroplane takeoff.. lol
any of you experience? thanks.
*
i have such sound as well, yes, BLM manual, but it only happens when i go fast, but not loud ones, is like gentle whining. Maybe something related to the alternator pulley maybe. Or maybe the intake manifold. Anyhow, nothing spoil until today, just the intake manifold sometime have some disturbing "tok tok" noise.

My BLM, the intake will have a very fainted whining (a bit like turbo intake whining) if the engine is around 2500rpm, gear 5, and gentle on the throttle. but then it gone after pass 28000rpm.

if you daring to try the cvt oil, go ahead. what i do know about cvt box is, it is very particular on type of oil used. it is even more picky than geared automatic transmission.

Yeah. Bought it from Proton. RM800++ was the total cost of installation including part & labour (& something else I could not remember at that time).

If I'm not mistaken, the sensor only cost about RM600++.

Hallu. My saga flx is on 6th year. Starting to show its old age (wtf)
1) recently got cvt light warning, checked n notice 3rd brake light kong. Leave it 1st but then last night batery kong. Change batery with bateriku (efficient guy). They check altenator n starter, tell me everything is good. But then today something weird happen. Cvt light did not show anymore, but when i put turn signal on, i notice that batery warning light blinking in rhyme with signal light. What actually happen here?
2. Steering vibrate like ike ike when idle. What to change?
*
better get it replaced, you never know when this gonna spread to other places and cause bigger problems

when key turn 1 time need to wait that sound to stop or can straight start engine?
*
best practice is wait for it to stop humming, it just like 1 second or so. it worth the wait.

Just wanna ask, how much high is the budget to mod the SV model for comfortable long distance drive (Straight or curve roads). Performance/Speed is not a priority.
*
comfort has a broad meaning, from your wordings, i define it to be "less noisy", so the first thing to do is insulation, it can cost you a few thousands if you doing a full car insulation plus the pillar foaming works, and yeah, the car feels more silent. since saga ride and handling wasn't bad so i think it should be ok.

To all sifu, have a few things to ask.
1. How to prevent the BLM gear spring rosak? Happen few times already in the course of 8 years while previous car do not have this problem. Is it need to get better quality part rather than part at Proton SC? Also on this subject, my gear sometimes very hard to go into reverse mode.
2. Engine hard to start, need to crank a few times only can start. What is the problem?
3. Car feels very underpower lately, even you press the peddle hard and the engine crank up, still feel it is underpower unlike before.

How should I rectify those problem? Major service just done 1 month ago and still long way to reach next service date.
*
1. i bet you are talking about manual transmission. it is pretty normal for manual gearshift spring to get broken, even the original spring doesn't last for the car life time though it did last a bit longer, there's two springs, 1 left 1 right and usually is the left side that usually gets broken, pretty normal as you must go to 1st gear very often. mine was saga blm though.

2. i believe it is intermittent, my blm have this problem since it is new. checked with sc and sc didn't find any problem with it, although my blm usually happens when the engine temperature is warm.

3. throttle body? spark plug? fuel filter? coil? clutch plate? aircond compressor? jammed brakes? it could be plenty of factors and it maybe your own feelings as well. Or maybe the sc updates your ECU mapping, who knows.

Hi just wanted to ask here
My car (2008 BLM model)engine light turns on intermittently but noticeable if I need to ascend a steep slope
Then they yesterday engine stalled while I was slowing down to turn the car to look for a space to park but able to off and on the engine and it was able to start
And today when I tried to start the engine after making a quick stop, the engine took around 3 minutes to start
May I know in you guys esteemed opinion what could be the cause of this?
Thank you all

fuel pump? miss firing? just plug in the scanner to check what is the error code says, and work from there on.
