QUOTE(x3Kai @ Dec 26 2018, 10:17 AM) hi all, newbie to cars here, so forgive me if i sound stupid. You didn't mention the rims offset nor the tire size you are using.my dad bought a saga about 6-7 years ago. if i'm not mistaken it's a FL variant. awhile back the rim was dented and a "relative" punya workshop go suggest we swap to a 15' sport rim. mana tau after changing to 15', the tyre keep on hit the skirting when crossing over bumps and potholes. so we took it back and they modified a bit so that the skirting won't cut the tyres when crossing bumps and potholes but it will still hit the fender. i saw many people changing to 15' rims, do you guys have any problems like this? any idea what went wrong? maybe like suspension too soft or smth. plus now the tyre starting to run out d, i'm thinking of changing back the rims to stock. do u guys know any shops that have good 2nd hand ones or anyone letting go theirs?ย QUOTE(danialefendy @ Dec 27 2018, 07:11 PM) Changed the steering rack bush to silicone. Small improvement. There is still "loose" feeling when driving and the steering still turn itself a little when crossing uneven road. Are you on stock rim or stock tire size? This post has been edited by dares: Dec 29 2018, 02:06 AM |

QUOTE(C2KBAS2005 @ Feb 18 2019, 11:13 AM) need some advice.....looking into changing front tires for my saga blm as one of this tires have one bulge aka bengkak due to my children's driving and hid something, this tires only at half of it's life span. replacements for A-drive and C-drive are the BluEarth series.been using only Yokohama tires 185x60R14 on all my cars for many years from A-DRIVE until C-DRIVE models.....from around rm.140 to around rm.180 nowadays per piece. thinking of getting other options to try.....maybe cheaper but same performance and grip as Yokohama....any advice or option, thanks I'm using BlueEarth ES32 on my Persona, so far so good for normal driving with the occasional hard corners. Not sure about the price for 14" though. |

QUOTE(Durianlife @ Apr 28 2019, 08:22 AM) Dear Saga Sifu, That looks like a front antiroll bar. You didn't notice your car become more sampan all these years? Can anyone advise me what are these for? 5 years ago, I had a problem with CVT gear box (Proton Saga FLX 2012). After Proton replaced the whole transmission, they left these on my passenger seat. I went back and asked, they had no idea. I'm still puzzling what they are.๐ ๐๐ผ ![]() ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(Durianlife @ Apr 28 2019, 10:30 PM) BTW, if I want to check whether the previous foreman replaced a new one to me or forgot to put it back..., may I know which part should I check whether the bar is there with my car? Note that while that looks like the front antiroll bar, I am not sure if it is from your car. That's a pretty major component to be clueless about by the mechanic who fixed your CVT.๐๐ผMany thanks. Just bring to any Proton SC (except the one where you fixed your CVT) and ask them to check, they know where and how the front ARB looks like. It'll be kind hard to check yourself unless you know what you are looking for, it's at the undercarriage behind the bottom of the engine. It's amazing how a 3 ft long metal bar ppear out of nowhere and the mechanic dunno what it was....more amazing it took you 5 yrs to ask anyone This post has been edited by dares: Apr 28 2019, 10:47 PM |

I just remembered a much easier way to check, dunno why I didn't think of this before I wrote my previous post.๐๐ผMany thanks. Turn your front wheels all the way to one side, then look at your front absorber. You're looking for the stabilizer link (mechanics commonly call them "tulang anjing"), a silver color metal bar mounted vertically on the posterior side of your absorber. The top end of the link is bolted to your absorber body. Now look at the bottom end of the link should be bolted to a horizontal black color bar. If both the stabilizer link and the black color bar is present, then everything is fine. If the black color bar is missing, or even the stabilizer link also also not present, then you know someone screwed up when putting your car back together. See picture below for reference, it's not a Saga but the position of the aforementioned components are similiar. ![]() |

QUOTE(Durianlife @ May 1 2019, 10:07 AM) I checked again. The yellow arrow is stabilizer link. While the red one, I'm not sure if it is anti roll bar....I can only see both of these connected to the wheel (not sure what should I call-in the round plate) from the picture you shown me earlier. It's all good, your antiroll bar is there (indicated with blue arrow below, the black tubular bar)For your kind advice.๐๐ผ ![]() ![]() ![]() So now u really do have a random unknow bar in your possession lol! |

QUOTE(sonicmaster @ Oct 27 2019, 10:00 AM) Lol Proton vs Perodua is huge difference. Saga 2013 original 34k sell for 10k. Viva elite 2011 still 13k. That's the difference Go check carlist.my.2013 Saga SV fetching an average of RM15k from dealerships. 2013 Viva Elite facelift fetching an average of RM19k from dealerships. Bear in mind when new, Viva Elite was RM45k, almost 10k more expensive than the equivalent Saga SV. |

QUOTE(elizsara @ Oct 31 2019, 09:24 AM) Hi want to ask if anyone has had experience going to proton to get the top tether installed? FLX is not ISOFIX ready. Just buy those child seats that uses the seatbelt.Or does anyone know which accessory shop that can help install? Just realized how hard it is to find a suitable carseat in the market without the top tether and anchor Currently driving a saga flx 2015. |

QUOTE(sbsoo111 @ Jun 24 2021, 01:10 AM) Hi Saga Sifu, What I did was place the nozzle at and angle instead of the normal angle. I got a 2012 flx, the car's gas tank is not able to fill in, the petrol gun keep jumping every few cents and i have to fill it super slow. I saw some one mentioned it could be a charcoal canister clog up, i changed it but the problem are still the same. i saw few youtube video mentioned it could also be a purge valve or vent valve, i try to search around and i could only found purge canister. do you guys know our proton saga flx have vent valve canister? if the purge canister faulty will it cause petrol filling issue? At an angle means - twist the nozzle around 90 degrees to either side, can be before or after insertion. That worked for me. QUOTE(erasergate @ Jun 27 2021, 09:46 PM) 2. I notice that the engine have oil leaks top engine block. My friend's 2013 person also have this issue. Is it common for proton? How much repair cost? If you mean leaking from the valve cover gasket (ie, under the black cover at the top), that is a common issue with the Campro from that era. It's not a huge problem but eventually you'll want to fix it. Should be around RM100-200 including labour. AMenzZ liked this post

QUOTE(neverlovegirl @ Nov 13 2021, 09:05 PM) Hi Car sifu, 1. when you rev hard, is there blue-ish/white-ish smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe?I'm grateful for any advice. My Saga FLX 2012 got issue with the engine. 1. Engine oil is not leaking but losing. After filling engine oil for 2 weeks, I checked again and there is around 1liter remains. So I changed Valse Gasket and fill the new engine oil, but issue still not fixed. So what is your suggestion to fix it? the engine will make noise loudly when engine oil drained. I asked for the price of Cylinder whole set - it's around RM2100... 2. Whenever I fill the petrol full, it will leak. So I only fill around RM35 per time. I changed Fuel filter, Fuel pump, Fuel hose but issue still there. I even changed the rubber under Tank's door but the leak does not reduce. does it need to change the tank as well? haizz Appreciate your comment. 2. how do you know it's leaking fuel? did you pinpoint the leaking location? |

QUOTE(neverlovegirl @ Nov 15 2021, 10:53 PM) for the smoke, I don't really see any smoke from the exhaust pipe. asked my friend to press the pedal while I'm watching it, confirming no smoke. Then the only thing left to check that I can think of is to see if there are oil in your coolant. Losing 3 liters of oil in 2 weeks is pretty severe, one would think the symptoms should be fairly obvious (other than the reduction of oil) For the leaking petrol, when I remove the rear seats, I can see petrol leaking from the door. I'm suspecting the Fuel pump is the OEM, not fully cover the door and leading to the leakage. As for the fuel leak, since you already know where the leak originates and you suspect the pump is the culprit....I guess the solution is to replace the pump with an original Proton fuel pump? |

QUOTE(Patrick761 @ Jul 13 2022, 11:28 AM) Hi guys, just wondering if its normal price to do a big fixing on a Saga FLX 2013 for about RM4K-5K. It just passed its 9 years old with normal driving on kampung and rarely use to go long distance. Mechanics sayย its for replacement on axle/drive shaft, now it's still drivable for at most 1 year but might not be safe for long travel.
