For owners of FoFi Ecoboost, do you guys feel any difference between Ron 95 and Ron 97? Still on my second tank now and am wondering if I should pump in Ron 97 instead. Will it make a difference, considering the engine's only 1000cc?

Same issues across all models of Fiesta except the MT one. Ecoboost clutch seems to last longer, though.

Buy Directly from the owner so you can inspect the service record and ask the owner about the car.
Fiesta radio settings won't lari so fast. I've disconnected the battery a few times, doesn't affect anything except the windows auto-up function. Sometimes I may have to reactivate it after disconnecting the battery.

Agree with buying directly from a private seller. Before I bought mine first hand, I was monitoring the used car market for maybe 6 months ++. I wanted a good second hand 1.0 but for some reason, don't know if it's my luck or just the ethics of used car dealers, all the Fiesta Ecoboost had the mileage tampered with by the dealer, conditions lied about etc.

In the end, said eff it and just bought new.

Ps I was told by ford sales agent to put the gear into neutral whenever the car is stationary, like at the traffic lights or just when waiting to turn into a road. He says it'll help to preserve the clutch longer.

Would that really help? It's kinda annoying and troublesome to keep switching between gears whenever I'm stationary. Anyone of you practise this?

Hi guys. Am considering buying an used 1.0L ecoboost Fiesta. Other than the usual dual clutch jerking problem, any notable tips I should keep in mind before buying the ecoboost version? Many thanks!

Check if previous owner serviced on time. If no, may not be eligible for warranty anymore even if it’s under 5 years.

I find a lot of second hand car dealers mess with the mileage. Ie Ford will tell me the mileage at last servicing is 82k for example, but the maintenance booklet and meter says 28k. Yup. Sneaky af

I literally have bad luck with this car. After changing the vacuum hose the guy passed the key back to me and i started the engine but I still saw the engine check light and i asked him why. He said he has to check again. Then on the spot they found out the ECU got problem. I asked him if it is a common problem but he said this was the first time he has seen this code of error zzz

For the last 5 years, I’ve had the following problem:

1. Clutch jutter (changed 3 times)
2. Hill brake disabled (don’t know how to describe it but the function to help brake the car when switching from brake to ascellerate pedal)
3. Engine check light (sensor)
4. Engine check light (vacuum hose)
5. Engine check light (ECU)

And I’m only clocking 35K after 5 years.

Wah this is really serious. I’m a low mileage driver too, I think every six months I clock 6000km or something. All your issues covered by the service centre since it’s under 5 years?

Eh. Can I ask a stupid question? How do I turn on both my headlights and my daytime running lights? It seems impossible!

My setting is auto. I realise when my headlights are on eg at night, my DSL is always off

The only way is to modify the DRL wiring.
*
Where can I do that? Do you know if it will affect the warranty?

Any accesories shop worth their salt should be able to do it.

Yes will affect your warranty, especially if they splice the wires.
*
Better not then. Any of you guys do it here? Don’t understand why there’s no setting to turn on both together 😂

I also feel like changing the headlights to white bulbs.

I have

- burned through 1 set of brake pad (it's soft like tofu skin)
- change to ICER brake pad (it's shit)
- cracked my stock FoMoCo rotor (it's wobbly like tofu)
- changed OEM TRW plain face rotor (wtf is this shit)
- burned through that set of ICER brake pad (i knew it)
- use back FoMoCo brake pad for less than a month (no money, what to do)
- warped my OEM TRW plain face rotor (hahaha called it)
- change to JC Brake (quite good, pm me for contact <don't wanna spill the seller name, wanna be sensitive abit>)
- change to AFI drilled/grooved rotor (quite good la, nice bite but lots of dust and wears through pads like a prostitute with condoms)
- finished brake pad (siens)
- surface hairline cracks on AFI rotors (as expected with drilled rotors)
- swapped whole set with somebody from facebook for their stock FoMoCo pads and rotors
- swapped out the pads for cheap 2 week old TRW pads
ALL THIS IN 60k KM.

Blergh. So many brake pads problem. FoFi 1.5 or 1.0?

Anyway mine has been having power window problems 🤦🏻‍♀️ On the driver’s side. First noticed a couple months ago but getting worse I feel. Very temperamental. Power window problems within one year? Feels like I bought Proton!

Don't use him as benchmark, he don't drive and brake like normal people.

What power window problem are you experiencing?
*
It's temperamental. Sometimes doesn't go down all the way, sometimes it jerks up/down when I want it to go down. I sent for car tinting yesterday and the tint guy said the same thing.

Power window not covered under warranty right?

1 year old car, just send to SC and claim warranty.

Okie dokes, shall do that after waiting out on the drying of new car tint.

Gotta get on changing my headlights to white bulbs too, been wanting to forever.
