must be inclusive these

1. workmanship to crush and rebuild the elevator space
2. hire local instead of bangla for 3DD works
3. a little piece of tiny entertaiment money for project launching/progressing/closing

exactly why i say most people dunno shit about elevators

yes, they may know about brands

but do they know who is the supplier? who can service this? how frequent and what certification needed to be renewd every year?

elevator or lift is considered as vertical transport system, and under jurisdiction of JKKP

some malaysian suppliers & oem svc provider: thysenn krupp, antah schindler

lifts are expensive. my wife also thought it's 10k+ only, but i told her to think about the cables alone and then think of all the system needed to make the lift work. not to mention carrying payload over 20 floors

it's about there

a 4-stop elevator cost about rm 300k, exc GST, transport & installation

an 18-stop elevator will cost more, even though u only need 1 car, u need 18 stainless automatic door, longer wire ropes

then you need the wiring for the lift motor room, automation, emergency call system, testing & comm, JKKP certification, and all that

which leaves you with about rm 100k profit per eleveaotr

1.8M profit over 15.2m = 12% margin is not much. if it is me, i'd aim for at least 25 - 30%

200k might just be enough for a 2-storey house / private elevator

it's kinda cool to have own evelavotr in house. esp if you are on wheelchair

it's about there

a 4-stop elevator cost about rm 300k, exc GST, transport & installation

an 18-stop elevator will cost more, even though u only need 1 car, u need 18 stainless automatic door, longer wire ropes

then you need the wiring for the lift motor room, automation, emergency call system, testing & comm, JKKP certification, and all that

which leaves you with about rm 100k profit per eleveaotr

1.8M profit over 15.2m = 12% margin is not much. if it is me, i'd aim for at least 25 - 30%

surprisingly no. electricity is only used if you use the elevator. nowadays, elevators can enter standby mode and switch off the lights & exhaust fans.

yup u can go to their Malaysia Office and select, practically everything can be either on shelf / custom made.

but still i prefered Schindler & Kone over other brands for my highrises project that requires 2.5m/s (standard for 30 - 40 floors building)lifts

btw Eita is one of the most lousiest lift brand in Malaysia. they used to ply all the contracts for Putrajaya highrises due to low price, but maintenance is a NIGHTMARE.

and by 2011 they had slowly recovered. now the had partnered schneider... their projec based are on again...

KONE Corporation, press release, June 25, 2014

KONE, an innovative leader in elevators and escalators, will be supplying 105 elevators and escalators to KL118 Tower, a 118-storey mixed use tower developed by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Comprising of a total of more than 400,000sqm of residential, hotel and commercial functions, KL118 tower is expected to be the tallest building in Malaysia, upon completion in 2019, a new landmark of the country. The building will be connected to a metro station and its 2nd phase of development will consist of another 4 residential towers.

To ensure a smooth people flow and achieve space optimization, 18 KONE TravelMaster™ escalators, 23 KONE MonoSpace® machine room-less elevators, 23 KONE MiniSpace™ elevators, 37 KONE DoubleDeck elevators, KONE People Flow Intelligence solutions including KONE highly innovative Destination Control Systems will be provided. The installation of KONE's energy efficient elevators will assist the new complex pursuit of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold or Platinum certification.

12 of the elevators installed at the KL118 Tower have a travel speed of 10m/s and this includes 11 KONE DoubleDeck. Besides these, two DoubleDeck observation elevators with travel speed of 8m/s, and two service elevators with travel speed of 9m/s and travel height of almost 500m are also included.

Additionally, four KONE JumpLift elevators will make the KL118 construction process safer and faster, with reduced down-time and earlier closing of the building façades. With the KONE JumpLift, all construction workers will experience significantly less waiting time, a safer and more comfortable transportation means. Furthermore, the elevators in KL118 will be equipped with a fully automated Occupant Evacuation Operation system that executes building evacuation automatically in event of emergency. Building users will receive automatic messages and evacuation instructions, via the elevator Destination Operating Panels, on every floor.

"We are excited to be a part of this iconic landmark in Malaysia." said Noud Veeger, Executive Vice President for KONE Asia Pacific and Middle East. "Working closely with PNB and their project manager, Turner International, our innovative technology and people flow planning expertise positioned us well to offer the best solutions for this development."

The order was booked in the second quarter of 2014.

Previous press releases on KONE's orders are available at www.kone.com/press including:

June 5, 2014: KONE wins order for Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Tower, the world's tallest building
April 14, 2014: KONE wins an order for a multiuse complex District 8 in Jakarta's financial center in Indonesia

So they also provide construction type elevators ?

But maintenance is gonna be a killer.

If breakdown when you are alone and you left your HP on the bed, you're gonna die inside the lift like this rich couple in the USA.

Both in late 80s..

Lift broken down

Left HP upstairs

Durring summer heat

Live alone

Big house... No one could hear them...

Discovered by their children after not calling

Died embracing each other..

But maintenance is gonna be a killer.

If breakdown when you are alone and you left your HP on the bed,  you're gonna die inside the lift like this rich couple in the USA.

Both in late 80s..

Lift broken down

Left HP upstairs

Durring summer heat

Live alone

Big house... No one could hear them...

Discovered by their children after not calling

Died embracing each other..

yeah, that's one of the risk

but its better than using electric straicase seats (the one u sit on the chair and climb up the stairs) - u have higher chance to fall off

depends on the capability as well like how fast it can go per second and also the other thins. Its not like just a simple pulley system ok. That price usually includes support contracts for X amount of years as well

it's about there

a 4-stop elevator cost about rm 300k, exc GST, transport & installation

an 18-stop elevator will cost more, even though u only need 1 car, u need 18 stainless automatic door, longer wire ropes

then you need the wiring for the lift motor room, automation, emergency call system, testing & comm, JKKP certification, and all that

which leaves you with about rm 100k profit per eleveaotr

1.8M profit over 15.2m = 12% margin is not much. if it is me, i'd aim for at least 25 - 30%
