Worth it to pay extra 3-4k to get the parallel twin instead of single?

Specs very much difference in terms of power and torque? Not really keen on getting ABS though

City rides and occasional weekends

Yes it is worth the extra 3-4k for parallel twin and abs. But for the sake of city rides, just 250SL is good enough.

i dont want to sound rude but please enlighten yourself before you said anything.

if you buy y15zr just to commute to your work place, ride properly, wear your helmet (would be better if fullface), you are not a rempit.

go figures.

I'm sorry for unintentionally offending you. What I was implying was the stereotype, not to insult the commuters personally. Anyways, I've seldom seen those bikes on the highway leh (at least in the morning). Am actually impressed with those who travel long distances with that bike

Nice. Do you do long distances? If yes, what's your average speed on the highway?

For rm15k and below u can get a used 4-5 yrs old er6n. Beats any 250cc any time. And still pays roughly the same amount in terms of maintenance and consumption.

Considering. Looking for 2014 ones with the new looks and design. My parents are quite skeptical on secondhand bikes coz maybe they used as racebike or stunt bike you also dont know.

Then it is enuf. 2012 can be had for around 18-20k. Leave some balance to buy proper riding gears and you're set.

Seriously, it will be the perfect bike for daily work commute and occasional weekends. Use sport touring or touring tyres for longer mileage and keep your chain lubed always, it can basically last 30-40k km.

Fuel consumption is just like a 250 if you keep to the speed below 120-130, thereby making it a no brainer on why ppl would choose a 250 if they can afford a 650.

First bike? than get used one.
250cc is nice and given the selection we had nowadays ( Kawa, Yammy )
its decent and will serve its purposes. It wont outgrow you that soon.

Parents always prefer new one. heck even i prefer a new one.
Get Yammy R25, Kawa 250R if u prefer the sportbike look.

If you have more budget get the z250

-more power (double dapur)
-more speed

the sl variant is cheaper to buy and maintain

-lesser service cost (1.1-1.2 litre EO when changing Oil filter)
-super light , suitable for lady

it is underpowered when you already used to ride bigger cc. as for me 250cc is just fine.

i can go 150-170km/h nonstop from Skudai-Ayer Keroh. forgot how long it takes me to go there since im no longer riding my bike in long distance. I just use it from home to workplace.

double piston is great since it would not vibrate as much as single piston bike.

For city ride, i would personally recommend fz150i (which i'm using now). It's not fast but serve the purpose to commute from my home to office. Saving my money to get 600cc and above (target z800) in near future for adrenaline satisfaction.

my own preference city ride would be R1 or zx10r..

the 4 inline sound or crossplane grunt is so head turner smile.gif

ojwai~ price wise would be expensive though..

btw back to TS choice, City ride I'll chose Ninja 250SL as i prefer a little bit sport riding position and its single cylinder ( cheaper to maintain ) ..
