Gotta be honest, Note7 still the best phone I have ever used. But I do feel like giving up sometimes.
I once bought Xperia Z1, lasted only 2 weeks. Dont like the interface.
Iphone 6+ lasted for only 30mins, handed it to my wife.
I'm a big fans of the spen, really. I also wonder whether the replacement unit is only for the sake of replacement or they do really replace the battery unit. Since they never mention what they are up to.

QUOTE(dlsl @ Sep 10 2016, 10:45 PM) For current status, u can bring ur phone onboard but u need to switch it off during the whole journey and u cant charging during the journey also. I dont know how long this rule will enforce for galaxy note 7 user. I dont think the crew member will take your phone during the flight unless u used or charging phone disregard the rule. Good point. I only read some articles saying it isnt allowed to enter the flight. Hence, I dont know anyone who gonna need to use the phone in a flight anyway. Not much you can do offline, with a phone. This however brought inconvenience having to face thesociety calling us timebomb. But again, I still need to know officially what they are doing to the replacement units.

QUOTE(mfa682 @ Sep 10 2016, 11:35 PM) Sorry, from your provided link, I can't seem to find "the small "text"/asterisk" in there. Nvm, not that I care much about Sony anyway. I've had enough with their phones/tablets, great hardware, the opposite goes with the software. I simply dont like the interface Plus, when I bought Z1 years ago, they dont have split galleries.

QUOTE(yuhhaur @ Sep 10 2016, 10:43 PM) The water concern is because nowadays phones are with lots of "holes" exposed to water if it is submerged. Take N7 for instance, its USB-C, the headphone Jack, speaker, physical home button, all these are exposed to water hazard. Why Sony change the terms for their water proofing policy during their Xperia Z3 is that they had change the way these ports are protected from a fully enclosed type of sealing to what everyone is now practiced - by o rings that is still exposed to water when it come to contact. Take a look at Xperia Z that I am using right now as spare phone, it is completed covered with flaps for the usb ports, headphone jack. yes there are still orings but they are secure inside the flaps once you close it, not exposed like what the newer generation of phones are. I am sure there are pros and cons of each other as the xperia Z I had already changed the micro usb flap for 3 times due to wear and tear (had to open the flap to plug the charging cable, and close it later) and the o ring gets worn and torn after some time. But till now I still have very good confident on the design that it is no problem to stay underwater as advertised (bearing in mind that the phone is already 3years+). For the newer generation of phones like N7, Xperia Z5, or even the IP7 it just doesn't give me the confident that it will still be doing good after a few years. . When I firstbought Z1, I'm so eager to have it in the water but I didn't hence the flaps. My Note7 is only 2 weeks old, I already made video underwater! Lol.

I am connected to my house wireless. Everything works fine on my computer and 2 Iphones but I couldn't load on some apps with my Note7. It happens quite frequent. Any idea on this?
Works like a charm on mobile data.
Exmp :
1) Youtube keeps loading, doesn't even show Home screen. 2) Doesn't load on Chrome.
Facebook is fine. Telegram is fine.

QUOTE(brandonkl @ Sep 12 2016, 02:47 PM) I am continuing to use my Note 7 as normal as only a small percentage of phones are affected by that one supplier of battery and my understanding is that Malaysia SME sets battery are not from that supplier. When I fly, I just follow instructions not to power on or charge. Will exchange for new unit on September 29. +1

QUOTE(s7ran9er @ Sep 12 2016, 03:25 PM) Negative news aside, I'm one of those people who will get the Note 7 once all of these news are gone. (This will be my very first Sammy phone). What are the reviews from you guys? Good phone I must say. Been trying to get myself another brands but couldnt stay long. It worth every penny!

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 12 2016, 03:41 PM) well I read newspaper Samsung expecting USD 5bil losses.. the best they can do is relaunch back Note 7 with different name later after some minor modifications To be safe than sorry, Note 7s should be fine I guess. Or Note Series maybe. As long as not a Note 7 or else might face difficulties flying later.

QUOTE(s7ran9er @ Sep 12 2016, 04:07 PM) Few points: 1. My no1 choosing factor smartphone based on camera performance and no doubt the N7 has one of the best overall camera performance on an android phone. 2. My friends are using Sammy phones, I have tried their phone camera and the photos are acceptable. 3. I can live with oversharpened and warm photos. 4. I understand the reason behind the battery combustion and I strongly believe a big & reputable company like Samsung will be able to manage. (thanks to you guys for sharing!) 5. My hTC One M8 is 2 years old. Talking about features, Samsung is really unbeatable. Hence the explosion, I don't think SAMSUNG IS BAD PHONE. Just bad qc and battery. The features are top notch!

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Sep 12 2016, 08:27 PM) So far we can only guess since there's no official announcement from Samsung. My bet is in October. Android Authority on their latest review regarding the explosion said its gonna be mid October in the UK. My guess ours is end of Oct.
