With all the waiting and hassles, really feel like giving up. May sell it with the same pre order price upon collecting the replaced set. My ticket back to MY could already fund big portion of phone. Well done, Samsung!

IMHO, Samsung really handles the recall well for simple case. For more complex situation like mine they screw up big time. I actually travel overseas for long term project. Samsung called me for recall and I informed them my situation. They said they could escalate to the Samsung here and I could return here which I'm really impressed. But they wanted me to carry in the full box set. Instantly my mood was down to the drain. Who will travel with box set around the world. At the end still need to fly 8 hrs including transit time back to KL. This is my first Samsung and last I guess.

Don't ever try that. If it is detained in the custom here, good luck as the clearance could take time due to no packing list, proforma invoice and how custom clearance can be done. Paying tax and clear it out may take months. I just wonder if recall and replace why do you bother box set. Taiwan doesn't need that anyway. Your service drag your feet. I will pay for my flight back, collect the phone and return to IOS. Anyway I have bought the new "fruit" phone pending delivery at 16 Sep which is more reliable.

MY set has region lock. For region free, you got to use MY sim to call for accumulation of total 5 min. Then you could use the other country's sim. Also make sure the correct band is supported by the phone.

Malaysia has the worst customer service. Even I'm now in China, they are working for us to exchange the phone. I call back SME and they insist me to surrender box set if I am to exchange in China. China Samsung said that I just need to send in phone and charger if exchange program is approved for foreigner like us. Basically I believe Samsung doesn't need us to return the box set and accessories. It's SME who being cheapskate on this.

I will tell the CS they are requesting us for exchange due to quality issue. They have no right to reject for exchange for loss of accessories. I will make sure he/she is removed in case any explosion happen. See how he/she wants to respond to me. We are just being exploited by those idiots!
