QUOTE(RalphRatedR @ Aug 14 2021, 08:57 PM) https://the-race.com/motogp/vinales-history...-self-sabotage/Not KTM but seriously this pretty much shows talent alone can't make riders go further without the right attitude. I think he is not that talented anyway, a bit overrated and cannot adjust his riding to suit the bike while not good with setup work too. He barely beat VR on his first season in M1 when VR was already much slower then easily destroyed by FQ. He is nowhere near the level of JL, not even DP. Anyway stunning pole by JM, hope he can again deny FQ from winning.

QUOTE(voscar @ Aug 14 2021, 10:25 PM) So now on reality Yamaha has been the best bike for past few years, rider problem and godlike MM domination making it look bad. Since MV replaced JL, Yamaha lost their true title contender until FQ now. MV apparently only has a very narrow window of operation while obviously VR is downhill. As for MM, yeah he was Godlike on Honda!

Exciting race at the end, with a surprising winner. What a brave gamble. I was also hoping VR at last to finally get his 200th podium but alas. Lol However unfortunately despite FQ struggling, the others also cannot capitalize, so the championship gap still very big.

QUOTE(Aydee @ Aug 17 2021, 08:40 AM) https://www.motogp.com/en/news/2021/08/16/m...-in-2022/387024Vinales to Aprilia. What are the chances of Dovi going to Yamaha? I remember he was in Tech3 Yamaha after he was dumped by Honda. He did pretty well on a satellite bike back then. But with no major sponsor now, Dovi might not be interested.

QUOTE(Aydee @ Aug 17 2021, 10:24 AM) Not SRT but Yamaha factory. The empty seat is still there and no rider is confirmed alongside FQ, just rumours. Most likely Morbi will be in it, cuz SRT already allow to release.

QUOTE(Aydee @ Aug 18 2021, 09:00 AM) Yeah, he is the obvious choice but in light of recent events, the silly season starts. Rossi's retirement opens up a seat at a pretty good young team, but Petronas' withdrawal makes the seat less desirable now with potentially no factory spec bike. Then Vinales's news confirms the empty seat at Yamaha and closes the door at Aprilia(where Dovi was expected to fill~maybe/maybe not). We will see where the musical chair lands next. But basically there's gonna be major shakeups in 2022. Also read somewhere Miller's seat at Ducati not safe as his performance was not as expected. Same thing with Alex Rins. A lot of fun reading stuff around. Just read with a pinch of salt. Yeah Rins is particularly vulnerable cuz his performance is much worse now. Miller still have chance to catch up cuz Pecco himself hasn't even won anything yet but anyway obviously Dovi will not return to Duc. I think if he can replace Rins at Suzuki will be the best scenario for him but it will take contract break by Suzuki to do that.

MV suspension continues so he will be replaced by Crutchlow in British GP.

QUOTE(8sg9ft @ Aug 20 2021, 03:23 PM) Lol MV and Yamaha end contract with immediate effect Yeah expected. QUOTE(Aydee @ Aug 20 2021, 04:41 PM) Meanwhile, in WSBK, Scott Redding leaving Ducati for BMW next year. I stand by my statement that he is an over-rated rider. https://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/2021/Reddi...rldSBK+campaignAgree, and he was also a sore loser when beaten by Toprak last weekend.

QUOTE(voscar @ Aug 21 2021, 01:54 PM) Rossi should consider next year's ride for Aruba Ducati WorldSBK, challenge the Great Rea to see who's the God, haha. Naah, just retire properly from bikes is better, don't further prolong the downhill journey. Do GT3 racing us better for him. QUOTE(skylinelover @ Aug 22 2021, 09:01 AM) Haha loved the alvaro bautista low profile and still hoping 2 see the 12 race winning form bautista back soon He should've stayed with Ducatti. Now he's nowhere. Don't know what happened to him, he was so superior on that first half of that year then all wheels fell off drastically in the 2nd half to lose the title easily to JR.

FQ got whacked by his bike on the ankle and limping. Yet still dominates the FP2 by a big margin.

QUOTE(voscar @ Aug 29 2021, 08:19 PM) Reckless ride by MM, karma for him cannot continue the race. He thought this is year 2019 his opponent played softer approach when seeing him around? Lol Yeah, clumsy move by MM. Anyway FQ dominated the race, so the points gap is huge now! Dissappointing performances by the rest of the title contenders, bummer! WSBK is much more interesting now.

QUOTE(voscar @ Aug 29 2021, 10:59 PM) Yes, FQ is on another planet, the overtaking maneuver he did to Pol Esp is sharp yet timed perfect. Actually was expecting him to be champion last year when MM injured away, can't believe his meltdown on the 2nd half season, this year seems he regained confident. FQ can start to play it safe now that he has over 2.5 races ahead in the points. As long as he can finish on the podium from now on in each race, he should be champ.

TR lost his Superpole win though by just a few mm crossing the outside track limit. Anyway strong performance by him this year, should have been further ahead if not for Gerloff stupidity crashing into him in Misano. I hope JR will finally lose his title this year.

QUOTE(Aydee @ Sep 8 2021, 11:26 AM) So Rea and Bautista remain the only triple weekend so far. Such a pity, during post race interview he said his target was a triple win and he was so happy about it. Hopefully if TR loses the championship, he will lose with bigger margin, otherwise this lost will hurt big time to him!
